Chris Pratt Defends RFK Jr. Against MAHA Backlash: ‘He’s Wonderful’

Chris Pratt‘s political leanings have earned him more than a few eyebrow raises in recent years, but this time around, he’s stirring up even more controversy. In a new interview, Chris defended Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — who happens to be wife Katherine Schwarzenegger‘s cousin —  against backlash he’s received for his Make America Healthy Again policies, but Chris may have actually just redirected the backlash to himself instead.

On Monday, when Chris appeared on this week’s episode of Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast, he talked about spending time with RFK Jr., who is Katherine’s first cousin once removed. And as far as Chris’ impressive of him goes, it’s a positive one.

“I think he’s great. I think he’s funny. I like him, I love him,” he said.

At the same time, Chris acknowledged that by virtue of RFK Jr. being in politics (what he described as a “nasty business), he’s bound to have plenty of detractors — especially after he’s witnessed fellow actors becoming the subject of untrue rumors in his time working in Hollywood.

“So my little bit of experience, I’ve been able to see how the person that you are can be sometimes in stark contrast to the person that your enemy is saying that you are,” he said. “And in politics, you inherit enemies.”

Chris added, “When you jump on the bandwagon with who is the most divisive president ever, it makes sense that you’re going to be made to look terrible.”

He also shared that there are policies that RFK Jr. is trying to institute in a more “bipartisan way,” like “getting terrible toxic stuff out of our kids’ food.”

“I’d hate to be so mired in hatred for the president that any success from his administration is something I’d be having an allergic reaction to,” he said. “To be like, ‘Oh, well, if they do it, I don’t want it to happen. I’ll put Clorox in my children’s cereal myself!’ Be reasonable here. There’s certain things that would be a good thing to have. I want them all to be successful.”

Chris was able to speak his mind, but not without receiving a bit of backlash himself for his support of his distant relative.

“Remember when some ppl were like ‘stop being mean to Chris Pratt you don’t know his politics’ and then he goes and says something like this lol,” one person on X wrote in response to Chris’ latest comments.

Another person kept it simple, writing, “This is why Chris Pratt is the worst Chris.”
