Collin Gosselin, one of the sextuplet siblings who starred on Jon & Kate Plus 8, has said he was treated differently than his other siblings. In a recent interview with The US Sun, Collin, 20, detailed the alleged abuse and isolation his mom, Kate Gosselin, subjected him to when he was a child. When he was 11 years old, he was admitted to a behavioral health facility. He has previously spoken up about the isolation and fear he experienced while at Fairmount Behavioral Health System, but he alleges that what he experienced there was not as bad as what he experienced in his own home.

Collin described being 'zip-tied' and locked in the basement.
Currently, Collin does not have a relationship with his mom or most of his siblings. Even when he was living with them, however, he was "isolated" from his brothers and sisters, so he "didn't have a childhood with them" and "never really had a relationship with them growing up," he told the Sun.
By the time he was 8 or 9 years old, his life at home got even worse, as his mom allegedly "had a room built in our unfinished section of the storage basement."
Collin claims his mom would lock him in that room. "She had zip-tied my hands and feet together and bolt locked the door, turned the lights off and had cameras there just watching me," he told the Sun.
He says he didn't eat dinner with his family.
Collin recalls feeling like "a scapegoat" as a child. He described spending much of his time in isolation. "I was away from my siblings and I never really went outside," he told the Sun.
"I never played with them. I was kept there. It was literally containment," he continued. He felt he had "no relationship with anybody."

He was an inpatient at a behavioral health facility at age 11.
Before he was an inpatient at Fairmount Behavioral Health System, Collin was diagnosed with multiple mental health conditions as an outpatient: autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, oppositional defiant disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder, according to medical records shared with the Sun.
He described being admitted to a behavioral health facility as "very scary" because he "didn't know where (he) was."
While at the facility, he wrote a letter to his dad, Jon Gosselin, asking for help. "I remember saying that I'm not trying to trick you because I remember thinking that nobody believed me as a kid," he told the news outlet. "My mom always told me nobody would believe me."
Jon has supported some of Collin's claims and has spoken out against his ex-wife, Kate.
Collin and one of his sisters, Hannah, both live with their dad. Jon was granted full custody of Collin in 2018, per Today.com.
Speaking to the Sun, Jon described receiving the letter from his son. "Getting that letter from Collin, was heartbreaking. Immediately I started the court proceedings to get legal custody of Collin, it was around 2017," he said.
He added that Collin was "so young" and "the tiniest person" when he was admitted to the behavioral health facility.
"I think what makes me feel so sick is that (Kate) went in there one time to visit him and told him he'd ruined their family and he was 11 years old. All to protect her reputation," Jon told the news outlet.
Jon said the basement room where Collin was allegedly locked as a child is 'still there.'
Jon also defended Collin's claims about the room in the basement of Kate's house. He told Sun that "the room in the basement where she kept Collin is still there."
He added that he did not know about how Kate allegedly treated Collin at home "until way afterwards."
"That kind of thing didn't happen until after I left," he told the news outlet.
Jon also criticizes his ex for how she reacted to Collin's alleged behavioral issues. "She threw this 11-year-old child into the place and said he's dangerous to all of us, he's always been dangerous even though she kept him tied up downstairs," he said.
In 2023, Kate released a statement about Collin.
Kate has not responded to these allegations as of September 10. In July 2023, she shared a statement on Instagram in response to allegations Jon and Collin made.
In the statement, she alleged that Collin was placed in a behavioral health facility "for the safety of myself, his brothers and sisters and for his own well-being."
"Unfortunately, I believe Collin remains a very troubled young man who continues to need a lot of help," she claimed at the time. "His brothers and sisters and I have not been directly involved in his life due to his history of unpredictable behavior and violent tendencies toward us."
