President Donald Trump Says He Won’t Deport Prince Harry Because Meghan Markle Is ‘Terrible’

President Donald Trump has no plans to deport Prince Harry. His reasoning? Prince Harry already has enough to deal with — namely, his wife, Meghan Markle. In explaining his decision to “leave [Harry] alone,” Trump criticized the Duchess of Sussex.

The update comes after the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, sought out information about Harry’s status in the United States because he wrote about drug use in his memoir, Spare.

Trump said Meghan is ‘terrible.’

Speaking to the New York Post, Trump suggested that he won’t deport Prince Harry because he feels sorry for him. “I don’t want to do that,” the president told the publication. “I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

He went on to say that Harry might be ‘whipped.’

Trump didn’t stop at calling Harry’s wife “terrible.” He also said that “poor Harry” is probably “whipped” by Meghan. “I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose,” he told the publication. Though he didn’t seem to have anything good to say about Harry or Meghan, Trump praised Harry’s brother, Prince William. “I think William is a great young man,” he said.

The Heritage Foundation has questioned Harry’s status in the US.

The right-wing think tank has alleged that the Department of Homeland Security could’ve “improperly granted” Prince Harry a visa, reported The Hill. Meghan was born in California and is a US citizen. She and Harry moved to the US in 2020 after they stepped down from royal duties.

The reason the Heritage Foundation believes Harry could’ve been granted a visa in error is because he mentioned illegal drug use in his book Spare. In the book, he admitted to using cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelics, per the New York Post.

The Associated Press notes that past drug use wouldn’t automatically prevent someone from entering the country. The Heritage Foundation, instead, wants to know if Harry received special treatment during his application process, or if he lied about his past drug use. “If he lied, that gets you deported,” Heritage’s attorney Samuel Dewey said. “People are routinely deported for lying on immigration forms.”

Nile Gardiner, head of the Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, said that “the American people have a right to know whether Prince Harry was truthful on his application.”
