Erika Kirk and vice president JD Vance seem to have been sharing a lot of cozy moments lately — despite the fact that Erika is mourning the loss of husband Charlie Kirk and JD is a married man. But according to Erika herself, it’s all because his family has been supporting her as she navigates life after Charlie’s death … and in a new interview, she even called JD a “blessing.”
As People reported, Erika’s comments came while she was talking to Fox News’ Jesse Watters at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi.
Not only did she say that JD has been a “blessing,” but she praised his wife, Usha Vance, too.
“Him and Usha, they are the most incredible people,” she said. “Incredible. With such genuine love. I mean, just everything they did for us was so humanized. They just, they were there for us. They’ve been there for us.”
She also mentioned that since the event had been scheduled, including JD’s appearance, before Charlie died, she wanted to make sure that she followed through with his plans as he wanted them.
“With everything that JD and Usha did for myself and Charlie afterwards, how could you not?” she said.

When Erika took the stage at the event, she introduced JD to the audience by sharing how he reminded her of her late husband.
“No one will ever replace my husband, but I do see some similarities of my husband in JD — in Vice President JD Vance,” she said. “I do. And that’s why I am so blessed to be able to introduce him tonight.”
JD and Usha both joined Erika in bringing Charlie’s body back to Phoenix, Arizona, after he was killed at a Turning Point USA event in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Since then, the couple has seemed to provide a lot of support to Erika as she adjusts to life without Charlie, though her closeness with JD has earned her a bit of side-eye from critics along the way.
