Initially, when Taylor Swift endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, Donald Trump acted as though he didn’t really care. Asked about Swift’s endorsement on Fox & Friends, the former president said it was to be expected because Taylor Swift is “a very liberal person.” Besides, he was never a fan of Swift anyway — he actually prefers Brittany Mahomes, he said at the time. But it’s possible that Swift’s endorsement is bothering him a bit more now, as he took to his social media platform Truth Social on September 15 to declare, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” That same day, the Harris-Walz campaign shared a statement about Trump that featured numerous references to Taylor Swift songs. It was titled “Trump’s Bad Week (Taylor’s Version).”

In one reference, Trump was referred to as 'the Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.'
Harris campaign spokesperson Sarafina Chitika shared the statement on X on September 15. “We’re pretty sure it’s Safe (& Sound) to say Donald Trump’s week has him Down Bad,” the statement read. “Mr. Not-at-all Fine has spent this week working through his feelings, whining about his Champagne Problems, and spending exactly none of his time addressing the issues facing the American people.
“His rambling, yelling, and constant conspiracy theories have many asking if The Man is “too emotional” to be president. Call it What You Want, but it’s Nothing New for the Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” the tweet continued.
“The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” is a song off of Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. Liz Cheney also referenced the song in an X post about Trump. Sharing his “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Truth Social post, Cheney wrote, “Says the smallest man who ever lived.”
The campaign explained why Trump had a sad (but not beautiful) tragic week.
In the statement, the Harris campaign included a list of multiple reasons why Trump was reportedly having a bad week. Among them, the campaign pointed to how Trump “refused to say on the debate stage whether he would veto a national abortion ban” and how he “was praised and celebrated by neo-Nazi hate groups for amplifying their message on the debate stage.”

The statement included nearly 30 Taylor Swift references.
Although the statement didn’t outright mention Trump’s post about how he “hates” Swift, it included references to nearly 30 Taylor Swift songs. “Donald Trump’s week of whining and spouting conspiracy theories has voters on both sides of the aisle ready to Forget That He Existed,” Harris-Walz spokesperson Sarafina Chitika continued in an additional statement. “The American people want to be Out of the Woods of the chaos and division of the Trump era, leave behind the Blank Space of Trump’s broken promises, and Begin Again by electing Vice President Harris to ensure America’s future of opportunity is Long Lived.”
Kamala Harris is reportedly thankful for Swift's support.
In an interview with radio host Stephanie Himonidis, Harris shared that she’s thankful for endorsements from influential celebrities like Swift, per The New York Post. “I’m so very grateful to all the artists who have understood the stakes of the election and have endorsed my candidacy,” Harris said, per the news outlet. “I’m very honored to have their support and I’m thankful for them raising their voice.”
Taylor Swift called Kamala Harris 'a steady-handed, gifted leader.'
Swift took to Instagram to share her endorsement on September 10. In her statement, she drew attention to the “AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run.” She said learning about this “brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter.” To her, Harris is “a steady-handed, gifted leader.”
“I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” Swift wrote. “I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
When she signed off the post, she referred to herself as a “Childless Cat Lady,” an apparent reference to comments Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, has made.
