Jamie-Lynn Sigler’s 10-Year-Old Son Beau Leaves the Hospital After 33 Days

Jamie Lynn-Sigler has an exciting update for anyone who has been following along with her family's scary experience involving her 10-year-old son, Beau, over the past few weeks. After spending 33 days in the hospital, including time in the ICU, Beau is finally going home. After checking into the hospital, Beau was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that followed what Jamie-Lynn has described as a "normal virus," but it led to what must have been a truly stressful ordeal.

Jamie-Lynn first shared that her son had been hospitalized earlier this month.

In an Instagram post she shared on August 6 that included a selfie of her and Beau, Jamie-Lynn revealed that doctors believed he was struggling with ADEM, or acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. According to Cleveland Clinic, ADEM is a rare neurological condition that causes inflammation in the central nervous system and can occur after a viral or bacterial infection.

She wrote, "4 weeks ago, what seemed like a normal virus for our son, turned into a nightmare. Beau has what we believe to be, ADEM. To say this has been hard, is an understatement, and I’ve never felt more broken."

Now, Beau is 'busting out' of the hospital.

Earlier this week, Jamie-Lynn returned to Instagram to share a video of Beau walking down a hallway filled with cheering staff members as he left the hospital after a 33-day stay.

"My brave boy, you are a walking miracle. The rest of this story will be Beau’s to tell, if he chooses to one day," she wrote.

She went on to thank the staff of Dells Children's Medical Center who treated Beau, writing, "I’m in awe of your patience, dedication, and expertise. But, no offense … I hope we never see you again."

Jamie-Lynn also opened up on her podcast about the experience.

On an episode of her podcast, MeSsy, Jamie-Lynn said that symptoms like a 105-degree fever and head pain are what prompted her and Cutter Dykstra to take Beau to the hospital.

The family was in and out of the ER three different times, and it wasn't until Beau was no longer able to speak or move his legs that he was admitted to the ICU.

It changed the way Jamie-Lynn views her life.

On the podcast, Jamie-Lynn said seeing Beau so sick changed her perspective on her life and her own health, despite battling multiple sclerosis for more than 20 years herself.

"I will take this every lifetime for my kid to get his chance, a fair chance, at a full life and his dreams," she said. "I am forever changed."

It's good to hear that Beau is on the mend.

There's no doubt this had to be absolutely terrifying for Jamie-Lynn and her family, which also includes her younger son, 6-year-old Jack. They must be so glad to have Beau home again after what must have been an incredibly difficult 33 days.
