It's been nearly two years since Josh Duggar was convicted on child pornography charges, leading to a prison sentence amounting to more than a decade, and Jill Duggar isn't afraid to share her true feelings about it all. In a new interview with People, Jill revealed she's still angry at Josh … coincidentally, in the same week that his lawyers filed a request for a rehearing in his case after his appeal was denied. It's hard to blame her for holding a grudge in this situation.

Jill has a long history of massive disappointment involving her brother.
It didn't just start with the arrest and subsequent trial involving child sexual assault material, either. Years ago, when Josh's molestation scandal went public, Jill was exposed as one of the victims after she was told as a child that she would be able to speak out about what happened to her in confidence. But eventually, the whole world found out what she said.
"It's still really upsetting," Jill admitted in the interview.
Jill and her sisters sued for the breach of privacy.
In 2022, however, their lawsuit was dismissed, and nothing ever came of the case they filed against In Touch Weekly, the city of Springdale, and Washington County for exposing them as part of Josh's scandal in police documents that should have been confidential because they were minors at the time.
"Our attorney said Josh's sentencing was basically was the nail in the coffin for our case," Jill told People. "It was the same judge that handled his case. But there's no reason it shouldn't have gone to a jury trial. It was just one of those moments that was yet again disappointing."
She doesn't think being angry is bad, though.
In fact, in her case, she thinks it's a great source of motivation.
"People are quick to say, 'Oh, anger is bad,' but I'm like, 'No, anger can be a good thing.' Especially when it propels you to advocate for people finding their voice," Jill said during the interview. "You have to just say, 'You know what? Even though this system failed us as victims and our desire for justice, and all of these people who just used and abused their positions and were not held accountable, we are still going to fight for victims' rights through Derick's line of work."
Earlier this week, Josh filed for a rehearing.

News broke in August that Josh's appeal had been denied, but it doesn't seem as if he's willing to let it go. Radar Online reported that on Tuesday, Josh's legal team asked the court for a rehearing in his appeal. It all hinges on Josh's claim that federal agents seized his phone during a raid at his car lot before he was arrested.
"Because a reasonable person in Duggar's position at the time he attempted to contact his lawyer 'would consider his freedom of movement restricted,' consideration by the full Court is necessary to secure and maintain uniformity of the Court's decisions," the new filing from Josh's team states.

It should be an interesting month for the Duggars.
Between Josh dragging his case out even further and Jill's new memoir hitting shelves on September 12, there's a lot to keep track of — especially if her book, Counting the Cost, ends up being as juicy as it seems it will.
Guess we'll just have to stay tuned!
