Long before Josh Duggar was ever serving time in federal prison, he was at the center of a molestation scandal involving his sisters. At the time, it cost his family their TLC reality show, Counting On, and this led to some of his sisters doing a televised interview to defend him. But now, we're finding out that Jill had been pressured into it, and she's finally sharing her side of the story.

Jill appeared on 'The Kelly File' shortly after the molestation scandal broke.
In new footage from the upcoming docuseries, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets, Jill speaks about the interview with Megyn Kelly that she and Jessa did in 2015.
In the interview, both sisters made it clear they had forgiven their brother a long time ago and made it seem as if the situation had been over and done with in their family for years, but was that really the truth?
She now says she was 'pressured' into doing the interview.
Jill admitted that she felt "obligated to do it" thanks to pressure from her father, Jim Bob, who is known for his controlling behavior toward his 19 children.
"I don’t even like to talk about it because it’s not something that I’m proud of," she says in the docuseries, via the New York Post.
She felt like it was her responsibility to save her family's TV show.
"There was an urgency in trying to figure out how the show was going to be handled in the wake of the 2015 events," she said. "As far as recovery and damage control, you just feel like a burden and the weight falls on you to help."

Derick even went so far as to call it a 'suicide mission' for Jill.
It appears Jim Bob was willing to stop at nothing to keep his reality TV empire standing — even if it meant sacrificing his daughters, who were the victims in the situation.
"I would not call it voluntary," Derick said. "Like, 'You’re gonna destroy yourself, but we need you to take the fall so we can carry the show forward because the show cannot fail.' [The Duggars] were gonna do whatever they could to get the return on their investment. If that meant collateral damage, that meant collateral damage."
'Shiny Happy People' premieres on June 2.
If this is what we've heard in just the sneak peeks from the documentary so far, we can only imagine what Jill and Derick are actually sharing in the four-episode series, which will also include interviews with Jill's cousin, Amy. We'll find out soon enough!
