Jimmy Kimmel has never seemed overly concerned with getting on the Trump administration’s good side, and it definitely doesn’t seem like that’s changing anytime soon. On Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jimmy went off on the FCC and vice president JD Vance in his monologue, and it seems like the gloves are officially coming off.
Though Jimmy came back from his suspension last week, it wasn’t until Friday that his show was airing across all ABC stations after media groups Sinclair and Nexstar decided to lift their suspension on it, too. Monday was the second time that Jimmy was speaking to a full audience, and he seemed to truly take advantage of it.
When it came to Vance, Jimmy went right for the jugular, mocking him for speaking with the media about his show.
“Vice President Maybelline was making the rounds, attempting to defend his boss and the chairman of the FCC with a new fairytale even a 5-year-old wouldn’t believe,” Jimmy said.
He then played a clip of Vance on Fox News, claiming that Jimmy wasn’t airing on certain stations after his suspension was lifted because “he’s not funny, because his ratings aren’t very good.”
Jimmy hit back at Vance’s claims, responding, “I have some good news for you, J Dog. We’re back on all the stations at every home, every bar, every strip club and every prison in America.”
And as if that wasn’t enough, he also had a very specific comeback for Vance’s remark about his ratings: “Last time I checked, your ratings are somewhere between a hair in your salad and chlamydia.”
He also joked that after Trump’s presidency comes to an end, Vance will be relegated to “doing mascara tutorials on YouTube.”
“How did we wind up with a president and a vice president who wear more makeup than Kylie Jenner and Lady Gaga combined?” Jimmy quipped.
So far, Vance hasn’t responded to Jimmy’s latest round of digs, but surely it’s only a matter of time before someone in the White House makes a statement.
