JoJo Siwa says that her grandmother wasn't at all against her drinking alcohol on stage. On the July 8, 2024, episode of her podcast JoJo Siwa Now, the 21-year-old singer shared that her grandma's approval is what fueled on of her “favorite [expletive] parts” of her Pride sets, which is “when I drink the alcohol on stage."

Here's how the idea came about.
“This idea of doing this stemmed from, I was in rehearsals and we were starting a new routine [for] ‘Yesterday's Tomorrow's Today,’ and my 21st birthday had just passed,” she shared. “I was like, ‘I wanna [expletive] take a shot before this.’ And my grandma was like, ‘Alright, JoJo. You should do it.’ And I was like, alright. Let's do it!”
JoJo says her routine riled up the crowd.
JoJo said her shot o’clock ritual makes the crowd go “absolutely ballistic.” According to her, it became a “big thing” during her June Los Angeles Pride at the Park show. “I bought out a jug of Tito's, and people were like, ‘Woah. What are you doing? Is it real? Is it fake?’” she remembered. “And I was like, ‘[Expletive], it is what it [expletive] is. It's a bottle of Tito's.’”

She shared a post after a handful of Pride Fest performances.
"Chicago Pride WHAT THE [Expletive]!!! What a time to be alive. Yesterday was unreal. I found out I set the record for most people in attendance at Chicago Pride at 2 a [expletive] clock in the afternoon… THAT IS NUTTY," she wrote. "You all really did that, showed up and had the best time with me. I saw you all with your posters, ur [expletive] KARMA MAKEUP YOU ICONS, some construction vests, some JOJO BOWS, [expletive] epic. Best [expletive] time I love you THANK YOU."
People shared their opinions about JoJo drinking on stage — and many aren't positive.
"Yeah definitely not giving a great image. You think you’re cool because you drink tequila shot on stage? Nope. Definitely not," one person commented.
"Sorry to say! Grandma was wrong about that! Good luck ," another person shared. "Bad. Impression on. Young People. Fans."
