Kansas City Chiefs WAGs Can Earn Up to $636K for a Single Social Media Post

For a long time, the wives and girlfriends of professional athletes, also known as WAGs, were a group of women who were largely unknown. Athletes dating celebrities isn’t anything new, but with the invention of social media, even the WAGs who aren’t celebrities have used their partners' power to turn themselves into influencers. And sometimes, as a result, the WAGs are more famous than their professional athlete partners. Recent data shows that the wives and girlfriends of the 2024 Super Bowl champ Kansas City Chiefs have some serious earning potential.

Lucky Gambler conducted research that shows that Taylor Swift, girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — who also happens to be one of the biggest celebrities in the world — has the highest earning potential of all the KC WAGs. It reported that she could earn up to $636,800 per sponsored post.

But Taylor is not typically known for sharing sponsored content on her social media, so we doubt she'll make much use of that possible income stream!

Brittany Mahomes is No. 2.

Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, is the next highest earner, with the potential to earn up to $13,300 per sponsored post (and yes, that is a huge gap between her and Taylor). Brittany, who is also a retired soccer player and co-owner of a women’s soccer team, has been married to her high school sweetheart QB since 2022 and the couple share two children.

Chariah Gordon comes in third.

Chariah Gordon, who is in a relationship with wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., rounds out the top three highest earners with $2,500 per post. Chariah gave birth to her and Mecole’s first child on Super Bowl Sunday last year. Before their relationship, she had a singing career. Now, she has a skin care line called The GLO Collection, which aims to help acne-prone skin.

How did they figure out the rankings?

Lucky Gambler put together a list of the wives and girlfriends with the most Instagram followers. They then looked at an online calculator that could break down earning potential for each WAG based on Instagram post performance.

WAGs are growing in popularity as influencers.

"The large follower counts that these WAGs have amassed speaks to the fascination surrounding WAGs and their lifestyle," Lucky Gambler Marketing Director Serhii Bielyi, said in a press release. "Their statuses as symbols of glitz and luxury, as well as the glimpses they provide into their glamorous, jet-setting lives, attract attention and intrigue from the public. Some have now even gained a higher number of followers than their NFL partner, demonstrating the continuing popularity that WAGs enjoy."
