Mom Allegedly Gave Child Hot Sauce as Punishment Until She Vomited From Allergy & Dad Beat Her

We’ll never understand why people deliberately hurt children. If they don’t have the patience, compassion, or love in their hearts to handle kids, they shouldn’t be parents. Sadly, babies are born every day — by no fault of their own — and become targets for angry parents. One Florida couple allegedly abused their daughter in an incredibly cruel and unusual way that landed them behind bars. Robert Eldredge, 38, and Ashley Eldredge, 37, reportedly forced the girl to ingest hot sauce, even though she has an allergy to it that made her vomit. The consequences could have been much worse.

The child shared disturbing details with police.

The child told a school resource officer about the alleged abuse, according to court documents obtained by Law & Crime, which led to a police investigation. The child showed police welts and bruises on her legs, claiming, “They whoop me with a belt … a wooden spoon.” The girl also told police she put ink on their cat as part of an “experiment,” which resulted in Robert Eldredge physically abusing her.

Her mother had a strange and dangerous form of discipline.

The child said Ashley Eldredge created a homemade hot sauce with “red peppers, onions, and oil” that she forced her to drink. The child claimed she had an allergy to it and became sick.

“According to the victim, when she doesn’t want to drink the hot sauce, ‘Ashley’ would hold [the victim’s] nose closed, which prevented her from being able to breathe,” police shared in the affidavit. “The victim stated that the hot sauce made her stomach hurt and causes her to vomit.”

Robert Eldredge reportedly admitted to hitting his daughter.

Police noted that Robert Eldredge said he “whooped” her “a–,” but missed and hit her on the back of the thighs. Ashley Eldredge reportedly admitted to forcing the child to ingest hot sauce, Law & Crime reported.

Both parents face aggravated child abuse charges without great bodily harm, Florida Today reported. Robert Eldredge remained in the Brevard County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Ashley Eldredge posted a $5,000 bond and was released on March 18, 2026. The pair will appear in court again April 7.

This isn’t Robert Eldredge’s first brush with the law.

According to a post on the Facebook group “Inmates in need of Penpals and Friends,” Robert Eldredge described himself as “Very God fearing, respectful, loyal, down to earth, spontaneous, goofy, and outgoing.” He added that before his incarceration, he ran a construction business and hoped to reopen it after his release.

“Im a cool a– white boy that lives to vibe and enjoy life to the fullest get at me! Im open to all types of people from all walks of life. Im looking for positive people in my life to keep my path str8 while im finishing my time,” he wrote in the post. “Im quick to listen and slow to answer if advice is ever needed. One thing is for sure I know what not to do lol.”

Well, maybe he spoke too soon. If he actually abused his child like she said he did, he doesn’t actually know “what not to do” and it’s nothing to laugh about.
