Kate Middleton Shares New Photo Snapped by Prince Louis in Honor of World Cancer Day

With World Cancer Day arriving on February 4, Kate Middleton has a lot to celebrate. After she was diagnosed last year, Kate underwent chemotherapy treatment and, earlier this month, announced she is now in remission. To mark the important day, Kate shared a new photo of herself on Instagram – and impressively enough, it was taken by 6-year-old Prince Louis.

Kate shared the new photo on Monday.

In the photo, Kate is standing in the woods with her arms outstretched, bundled up in a coat, hat, and gloves. In the caption, she wrote, “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease. C.”

She included the hashtag “#WorldCancerDay” and attributed Louis as the photographer with the camera emoji.

Swiping over, we can see a close-up photo of branches with the same quote in white text that Kate included in her caption. According to People, that photo was snapped by Kate herself in Windsor.

The comments were filled with messages from people wishing Kate well.

Many of them focused on how happy they were that Kate is healthy again, with one commenter writing, “Such a fabulous photo and message! So happy that the Princess had successful treatment & is in remission. Her strength, resilience, grace, kindness, and humility are so inspiring, and she deserves the best continued health!”

Others shared how impressed they were with Louis’ photography skills. “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” one commenter wrote. “Prince Louis gets it from his momma!”

There’s more to the meaning of the photo than meets the eye.

Kate’s photo also may have included some hidden symbolism that many of her followers may not have picked up on right away. As People pointed out, the branches that she zoomed in on in the second photo are actually ferns, which symbolize resilience and new beginnings.

Considering Kate just came out on the other side of her cancer battle, there’s no doubt that she’s resilient – and likely very happy to be starting the next chapter of her life, which has included a return to work.

Kate must be so proud of Louis.

The Princess of Wales has always been very interested in photography as an art form, and she takes the portraits of her children shared on social media each year to mark their birthdays. To be able to share this passion with Louis must really be special.

Plus, he’s not half bad. Who knows? Maybe he’ll end up pursuing photography in the same way his mom has.
