‘Sister Wives’ Kody Brown Slams Christine’s Living Situation as Custody Battle Intensifies

It seems as if not everyone is thrilled with all the changes taking place in the Brown family. The stars of TLC’s Sister Wives had a lot happen last season with Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, and Meri Brown confirming their relationships have ended with polygamist Kody Brown.

And now, Kody is feeling the sting.

Since Kody and Christine ended their relationship, fans of the show have been following Christine as she relocated to Utah with her 13-year-old daughter, Truely, to be closer to family.

Christine and Kody share six children, with Truely being the youngest and the only minor between them.

According to an insider, Kody isn’t thrilled with Christine and Truely’s new living situation.

Speaking to the U.S. Sun, a family insider said there’s some contention in the custody arrangement between Kody and Christine.

When Christine moved to Utah with Truely, it didn’t take too long for her to meet someone, a man named David Woolley, fall in love, and get engaged.

Since their engagement, Christine and David have bought a house together — and Truely lives with them.

"It has been brought up several times by Kody that he doesn't think it's appropriate for his daughter to be living in an unwed household,” the insider told the publication.

"There have been conversations about how he's uncomfortable with the fact alone that Christine and her fiancé are living together and not married."

Given the Browns' past polygamous lifestyle, it’s a strange thing for Kody to be hung up on.

The whole reason the Brown family got a TV show was to give a glimpse into the lifestyle of a polygamous family where Kody was legally married to only one of his four wives — Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn.

Meri was legally married to Kody from 1990 to 2014 while he had three other wives. He and Meri divorced on paper in 2014 so he could legally marry Robyn and adopt her three children from her first marriage.

Despite Christine being in a committed, spiritual marriage with Kody for more than 25 years, however, the two were never legally married. That is why it’s interesting Kody seems upset with Christine’s current living situation.

The custody of their youngest child, Truely, was a big topic during Season 17 of ‘Sister Wives.’

During Season 17, as Kody and Christine worked out the details of their split, the custody of Truely was one of the many contentious topics. Kody demanded shared custody with equal time spent with Truely given Christine chose to move to Utah with their daughter.

Christine expressed her frustrations with Kody’s demands for time with Truely, saying when they were living in Arizona, where the rest of the family is, he never wanted to spend time with his daughter.

There was no resolution at the end of Season 17, but sources say that the intensified custody battle will be a storyline in the upcoming Season 18 of the show.
