Kylie Kelce Explains Why She’s ‘Against’ Her 4 Young Girls Wearing Bikinis at the Beach

Toddler swimwear is actually a pretty controversial topic. While some toddler parents love cute bikinis for toddlers, others think they’re totally inappropriate. Kylie Kelce recently weighed in on the topic, but her concerns about toddler bikinis have less to do with modesty and more to do with convenience. Truthfully, applying sunscreen to a child who is wearing a bikini is just too much of “a hassle.”

Kylie, 33, is mom to 5-year-old Wyatt, 4-year-old Elliotte, 2-year-old Bennett, and 4-month-old Finnley. She wants to make things as stress-free as possible when taking her daughters to the beach, which is why bikinis are a no-go. She explained her stance during a recent interview with Today.

“I have to be honest, I’m against the bikinis because I don’t want to have to sunscreen that many spots,” Kylie explained. Instead, she prefers “long sleeve swimsuits.”

“Even when we have a two-piece with the long sleeve sun shirt, I still have to like re-sunscreen their belly and their back,” Kylie added.

Additionally, with Kylie’s kiddos being so young, they move around a lot when playing at the beach, causing their swimsuits to move too. “You know how much their swimsuits move while they’re digging in the sand and playing in the waves. It is a hassle and a half,” she said.

In that sense, modesty is a factor, but Kylie is mainly motivated by avoiding the “torture” of applying sunscreen to more spots. “I mean, modesty is great for kids, but ultimately I don’t want to have to sunscreen you any more than I already do,” she explained. “It’s torture.”

The topic of toddler swimwear has also recently come up on different Reddit threads. On the Mommit Subreddit, one parent recently said they “don’t get” all the “hate over toddlers and babies wearing bikinis.” They explained, ” I love seeing my baby dressed like a strawberry with her belly poking out.”

Like Kylie, some moms simply expressed concern about sun protection. But others argued that “bikinis have no business being worn by little kids.”
