‘Love Is Blind’ Couple Lauren & Cameron Open Up About Their Fertility Journey

As we wait not-so-patiently for the Love Is Blind season 7 reunion to air on October 30, a former couple from the Netflix reality series is opening up about their journey to parenthood. On a new episode of their podcast, The Love Seat, Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton opened up about their fertility struggles for the very first time, following many questions about when they plan to have a baby.

Lauren and Cameron said the question they're asked most is about their baby plans.

But because of the fertility struggles they’ve faced on their journey to grow their family, Lauren admitted that “this conversation is not the easiest” one for her to have.

“I’ll be honest, I like to share a lot of things but this is one that’s still kind of tough,” she said. “But I think it’s so important to talk about it so that you can see yourself in the conversation that we’re about to have.”

Cameron got emotional talking about Lauren undergoing IVF.

His voice broke as he talked about his wife giving herself shots and taking medication in the pursuit of pregnancy.

“Knowing that IVF wasn’t something that you naturally wanted to do, but you did it for me, you showed me a new level of love that I’d never seen before,” he said.

The process has only made the couple closer.

Lauren and Cameron tied the knot on Love Is Blind back in 2018 after they met and fell in love on the show, and Lauren said going through IVF has “actually made us stronger.”

“It has made us feel more connected,” she said on the podcast. “I think we support each other, we’re more in tune now. I feel like in marriage, or any type of relationship, when you go through something that’s big and heavy or weighs on your heart, it creates a bond. I think that it’s actually made us stronger.”

Cameron also shared his advice for any men going through IVF with their partners.

“As men, our first instinct, it seems, is to want to fix things. When we’ve been struggling to conceive, my first instinct is to dive into the research on fertility, IVF, try to consume everything I can, come up with a strategy, how are we going to improve the next time,” he said, adding that it’s also important to turn “toward your partner and their emotions.”

Lauren later admitted the episode was 'kinda tough' for her to record.

Even though it was hard for her, she said it was worth it because “I believe in the power of testimony and sharing to encourage and/or heal others.”

“I love this episode because it’s transparent, raw and the vulnerability is so beautiful, ESPECIALLY amongst the men (because we don’t see it often),” she wrote in an Instagram post about the episode.
