Prince William was only in New York City for two days, but he made sure to make the most of his trip! The Prince of Wales was in NYC to attend the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit. In addition to attending the summit, he waded in the East River with the Billion Oyster Project, spent time at the United Nations, and met with Ecuador’s President Lasso Mendoza. He even shared that he got to sneak into Central Park for a morning run with dozens of other New Yorkers. Even though Prince William was in the city alone, his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were on people’s minds!

He got to meet with first responders.
On one of his many stops in the city, Prince William visited the Ten House firehouse in Manhattan. Ten House was one of the critical firehouses after the 9/11 attacks, and was used as a command center and recovery center.
The firefighters made sure he left with a little something for the kids.
William got to meet with the firefighters and others who work there, and they sent him home with all kinds of goodies for his children. William walked out with small rubber fire trucks with the fire house's logo, pens, notebooks and T-shirts from their stair climb.
New Yorkers got quite a surprise during his visit.

After his time at the firehouse, he surprised the New York crowds with a walkabout across the street. He chatted with the people, a mix of locals and tourists, who had gathered, hoping to catch a glimpse of him in the city. The Prince of Wales also posed for photos and shook hands.
Someone asked him if he would ever bring the kids to NYC.
During the walkabout, Prince William received even more gifts for his kids. One person in the crowd gave him three “I love NY” tees for George, Charlotte, and Louis, as well as state license plate souvenirs. He told someone in the crowd that he would "love" to bring the kids to New York someday.
He enjoyed his time in the US.

"It’s so good to be back in the United States. No one does optimism and ingenuity like the American people," Prince William said when he landed at New Jersey’s Newark Airport at the start of his trip, per Kensington Palace.
