It was a big day for the royal family today — the coronation of King Charles III! The family had been planning and practicing for this moment for months. Once it was confirmed that the royal kids would be attending, people were curious about how they would be included.
Prince George, who is 9, was confirmed to be a Page of Honor for the ceremony, meaning he would walk behind King Charles and help support the giant robe he would be wearing, among other responsibilities.
When the ceremonies were happening, Prince William and Kate Middleton had Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, with them.

As the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince Louis is a typical 5-year-old who seems super playful, which makes sense for his age. After making several appearances last summer at significant royal events — like the jubilee and then the late Queen’s funeral — people were curious if his fun personality would be on display during the coronation, and it was.
Many of us can attest that convincing our 5-year-olds not to be cheeky while waiting in the grocery store’s checkout line can be a frustrating challenge. So many royal watchers were curious how the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton would act during the coronation.
Thankfully, Princess Charlotte was there to lend a hand with her younger brother.

We saw during the funeral for the Queen that Princess Charlotte seems to be a rule follower. But during those events, she gave cues to her brothers to remind them of the procedures. For example, she reminded Prince George when to bow and took on a similar role for her grandfather’s coronation, too.
Walking into Westminster Abbey in central London for the start of the coronation events, Princess Charlotte held Prince Louis’ hand. She helped guide him into their seats, walking behind their mom and dad.
During the ceremony, Princess Charlotte was seen chatting with Prince Louis.

Sitting between their parents during the crowing ceremony, Louis and Charlotte were seen looking up at something, pointing, and chatting with each other while their parents listened to the ceremony.
When Wales family left Westminster Abbey to head back to Buckingham Palace, sitting in the back of a carriage and then on the palace balcony, Princess Charlotte was never far from Prince Louis. She definitely helped her parents out with keeping Louis under control.
But, even with Princess Charlotte’s help, the young Prince Louis couldn’t hide how he was feeling.

Louis was seen yawing (we can’t blame him), looking around, giving side-eye, and giving his signature cheeky smile to the crowds while he was en route back to Buckingham Palace.
He wasn’t shy about waving to the crowds outside. But on the balcony, he was super interested in the happenings above, whether it was the helicopters or Red Arrows with bright colors of red, blue, and white trailing behind the stunt planes.
We’re sure the whole family could use a nap after everything today.

Most of us need a nap when we get home from a family event where we have to convince the kids to subdue their natural energy.
Plus, the events aren’t over yet — there are more festivities planned for tomorrow, including the Coronation Concert, where performers will include Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Andrea Bocelli.
