As the (then) future king of England, it’s probably safe to say that the man formerly known as Prince Charles got out of a lot of the more hands-on parenting duties when his kids were little. And because we’ve heard endless stories about what an involved mom Princess Diana was to her boys, it would make sense if she got a little frustrated with the whole thing from time to time. At least, it definitely seemed like she was in this newly resurfaced video …

The video shows a rare moment in Charles and Diana's daily lives as parents.
Here, we can see Princess Diana, who would have been a fairly new mom at the time this video was taken, holding a tiny Prince William in her arms. As she passes by her husband, she plops a dirty diaper down into his hands and keeps moving.
There’s no way to know what Diana was thinking in that moment for sure, but it seems similar to what a lot of moms have felt before when they’ve changed way too many diapers in the past 24 hours!
People are applauding Diana for it.
“She should have shoved it into his face. Poor Diana. She fell in love with the wrong man as he loved someone else,” one person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote.
Another person tweeted, “Charles was so prissy he wouldn’t even put toothpaste on his own toothbrush. So her handing him a dirty diaper is actually funny.”
The clip comes from a larger feature shot by the Associated Press.
Filmed in honor of Prince William turning 6 months old, the video shares a more intimate peek at Diana and Charles as parents. They spend most of the time on camera doting on their baby boy and joking with the camera crew.

Diana was said to break the mold when it came to the ideals of royal motherhood.
During a time when Diana may have been expected to be more distant from her sons and rely on the help of nannies and other child care, Diana was sure to do many things for William and Harry herself, including taking them to school.
“She was our guardian, friend and protector. She never once allowed her unfaltering love for us to go unspoken or undemonstrated,” Harry said of his mother when he gave a speech in honor of the 10-year anniversary of her death in 2007. “Behind the media glare, to us, two children, she was quite simply the best mother in the world.”

Charles is believed to have been more formal around his boys.
“He has amazing personal discipline. So, he has – and it’s frustrated me in the past a lot – he has a routine,” William said in the documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70 (via Express). “The man never stops. I mean when we were kids there was bags and bags and bags of work that the office just sent to him. We could barely even get to his desk to say goodnight to him.”
