Scott Peterson’s Former Lover Amber Shares Her Story About Scott & Working With Police

The woman who was having an affair with Scott Peterson around the time of his wife Laci Peterson's murder is speaking up and sharing why she went to the police with information about him. Laci Peterson went missing on December 24, 2002. She was 27 years old and eight months pregnant. In April 2003, Laci Peterson's body was found. Days later, her husband Scott was arrested and he was later convicted. However, he has always maintained his innocence. In American Murder: Laci Peterson, a new Netflix docuseries, Amber Frey, the woman who dated Scott Peterson, breaks her silence.

Amber didn't know she was involved in an affair.

When Scott Peterson met Amber, she had no idea that dating him would mean helping him cheat on his wife. He reportedly had told her he was single, then later claimed that he was a widower, Amber reveals in the docuseries. After learning that Scott Peterson was actually married to a woman who had been alive when they were dating and that his wife had been reported missing, she reported Scott Peterson's lie to the police. Working with the police, she recorded phone conversations with him without his knowledge.

Conversations suggest that Scott Peterson saw Amber in his future.

In one of the recorded calls between Amber and Scott Peterson, Amber can be heard saying, "So what do you want to be together with me?"

"For the rest of our lives I think we could care for each other," he responds.

The conversation is significant because they suggest that Scott Peterson saw Amber in his future. During his trial, prosecutors argued that he killed his wife to be with Amber and to avoid being a father.

Scott Peterson denies these claims.

In a different docuseries, which is set to premiere on August 20, Scott is sharing his side of the story. In the docuseries, Face to Face with Scott Peterson, he called the allegations "so offensive and so disgusting," per People.

Scott Peterson admits that he "was a total a–hole to be having sex outside our marriage," but insists that he didn't murder his wife.

His case was picked up by the Los Angeles Innocence Project in January.

In January, the Los Angeles Innocence Project’s picked up Scott Peterson's case, claiming that "newly discovered evidence" could support his claims that he's innocent. The Los Angeles Innocence Project is a nonprofit organization that "provides pro bono investigatory services and legal representation to indigent individuals in Central and Southern California who were convicted of crimes they did not commit," according to its website. The docuseries also looks at the Los Angeles Innocence Project's investigation.

Laci Peterson's mom, Sharon Rocha, is also speaking out.

American Murder: Laci Peterson features an interview with Laci's mom, Sharon Rocha. In it, Sharon shares that Scott Peterson didn't want to be a dad, per The Daily Beast. She also said she had a bad feeling about Scott Peterson when Laci first started dating him.

"Laci was telling me all these things about Scott," Sharon says in a trailer for the docuseries. "And I remember saying, as her mother, 'I hope he’s not filling her with crap.'"
