Now that Kody Brown only has one wife left standing, it looks like the Sister Wives star is trying to change that. According to a source who works on the TV series, Kody has been actively pursuing new wives, but it's not going well — in fact, he's already gotten rejected at least once. Ouch!
In the past year, Kody has found himself going from four wives to just one.
Christine was the first to leave — something that fans saw play out on the show this season. Since then, we know that both Jenelle and Meri have left the family, leaving Robyn as Kody's only wife.
But instead of sticking to monogamy, it sounds like Kody's trying to get back in that polygamy saddle.
Now, Kody is reportedly actively seeking another wife.
According to what an insider who works on Sister Wives told the podcast Tender Loving Care …?, Kody and Robyn are "on the hunt or a new wife."
"They have been filming Kody and Robyn courting, as they say, a woman in an undisclosed South American country for months," podcast cohost Pauline said.
The woman is supposedly 'quite young.'
It sounds like they took things pretty far, even going on a trip together in Mexico, but ultimately, it all fell apart.
"It is a full on complete and utter disaster," Pauline continued. "[The source] says they look like they wanted 'A mail order bride.' The woman was apparently so turned off by the two of them that she left."
Kody is trying to cover it all up.
Apparently, he didn't like the way that the situation made him come off, and he is "furious" enough that he's trying to convince TLC not to air the footage so the public won't find out what happened.
If the situation played out the way the source says it did, it appears there's only a slim chance the network will agree to that. This sounds like it would make great TV.
This is the first time in decades that Kody hasn't had more than one wife.
That's a huge change for him, so it makes sense if he's trying to get back to a routine he's more used to — having multiple wives.
Still, all of the wives made it very clear that they believe that Robyn is his favorite, so maybe he'll be happier just spending all of his time with her? Time will tell …
