With a brand-new season to promote, we weren't too surprised to see the Ted Lasso cast at the White House this week — but we were surprised to see what happened when they visited. Jason Sudeikis and other cast members gave a press briefing to raise awareness for mental health, but things didn't quite go the way they probably thought they would.

Several cast members visited the White House on Monday.
Jason Sudeikis, along with costars Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Toheeb Jimoh were all on hand to meet with President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, and they were also slated to give a briefing on mental health.
But before they could take the podium, a fight broke out in the press room.
Journalists assembled at the briefing got into a fight.
As Rolling Stone reported, Simon Ateba of Today News Africa started off by calling out White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who he's had beef with in the past. Apparently, Ateba even accused her of "making a mockery of the First Amendment." Yikes.
Fortunately. Jean-Pierre was able to get control over the situation pretty quickly after that.
Eventually, the cast was able to get on with what they came there to do.
And Jason even offered a hug to Jean-Pierre after the altercation.
"I know in this town, a lot of folks don’t always agree and don’t always feel heard, seen, listened to. But I truly believe that we should all do our best to help take care of each other," he said.

Jason also brought a 'Ted Lasso' moment to life.
He took a question from character Trent Krimm, a journalist in Ted Lasso, who asked him how he feels about Kansas City hosting the 2026 World Cup.
"What I am genuinely worried about is that once we get all these folks from all over the world to come to Kansas City, and see our city, and eat our food, meet our people — you’re going to have a lot of folks that won’t want to move away," he responded.
In the end, they were able to accomplish their mission.
Even though it did come with a bit of chaos, Jason and his costars were able to get their very important message across.
Let's just hope that future briefings go a little more smoothly than this one. It seemed like a stressful situation for everyone involved.
