‘You’ Season 4 Needs To Answer These Questions Now That Joe Goldberg Is Back

It's been more than a year since we've caught up with stalker/serial killer Joe Goldberg, but with the premiere of the first part of You Season 4 happening this week, more episodes are officially upon us. And when the show finally returns to Netflix for the first five episodes on February 9 (the remaining episodes will arrive next month), there are a few things we really need to know.

'You' Season 3 ended with a *lot* of bloodshed.

Of course, that's typical of this show, but last season really was a doozy, huh? After Joe (Penn Badgley) and Love (Victoria Pedretti) moved to the suburbs to become parents, they tried really hard to fit in … but knowing these two, that was simply impossible.

Joe became obsessed with their next door neighbor, and Love wasted no time murdering her (an overreaction for sure, but again, typical). Joe ends up moving on to another obsession, his library coworker Marienne, while Love ends up in a sticky situation with Theo, the much younger stepson of the neighbor she just killed.

Ultimately, Joe ends up asking for a divorce, so Love tries to poison him, but Joe's much too smart to let her be his downfall. He ends up killing Love, leaving their son, Henry, in the care of his coworker, and when the season ends, he's headed to Paris to find Marienne. But thanks to one of Love's final acts before her death, Marienne already knows that Joe killed Ryan, her ex and the father of her daughter.

And now, we have just a few questions about what comes next …

What is Joe doing in London?

He was all about tracking down Marienne when last season ended, so how did he end up in London? We know there are scenes of her accusing him of being a killer in the trailer, but are those real or just imagined by Joe, as many sequences in this show tend to be?

How did he go from being in France to hopping over to London to assume the identity of a college professor?

Will he and Henry reunite?

Baby Henry did seem happy in his new home — not that we blame him, being that both of his parents were and are serial killers. But the letter Joe left behind with him made it sound like he didn't mean to abandon his son forever.

Will he make it back to Henry? How will he make it back to Henry? After all, everyone in the town he left behind thinks Joe is dead.

Who's stalking him?

In the trailer, it appears Joe is getting text messages from someone who is watching him, just like he's watched so many others. Who is it? Does it have anything to do with his past crimes? Who managed to track him down in London?

Will this be what finally leads to his death — or, at least, actually having to pay for his crimes?

Will he kill again?

The thing about Joe is that he's always trying to be a better person, but at this point, it's pretty clear that he probably isn't capable of that.

Maybe we should rephrase the question: Who will Joe kill when he kills again? With a brand-new cast, there are a lot of options, and we can't wait to find out what happens next.
