Holy guacamole! Talk about a fatty dish.
The other day I decided to splurge and get lunch at Chipotle. I say "splurge" because a) I spent 10 smackers, and b) I got tacos loaded with cheese and sour cream.
So. Effing. Good.
But while checking out the menu board, I was blown away by the calorie count of one of the side items I ordered. (I live in NYC so all fast food places post the calories of each item.)
You won't believe how much a side of chips and guacamole will set you back. See what it added up to …
660 calories! For a small side of chips and guac!
I did some investigating, and it turns out the chips are the killer. The guac alone has 170 calories and 15 grams of fat — that's high enough on its own. But the chips have 490 calories and 19 grams of fat. Which brings us to a grand total of 34 grams of fat and 660 calories. And that's not even counting my tacos!
Suggestion: If you must have guacamole, skip the chain's chips, and dip veggies or your own baked chips instead.
Would you order this knowing the calories and fat count?
