10 ‘harmless’ questions that fat people are sick of hearing

Confidence is not one size fits all.

Certain words, remarks, and yes, questions affect us all differently. What rolls off my back might stay with another person for an entire week — or even a lifetime.

So as a PSA to the world, here are 10 questions (some of which seem harmless) that can really hurt someone's feelings.

"When was the last time you worked out?"

Assuming that a person doesn't work out because of their weight is the same as assuming someone who is thin works out regularly.

"That's YOUR boyfriend? He's so skinny."

"Are you sure that haircut is right for your face shape?"

I think this says more about the person asking the question than the one answering.

[Looks your bodycon dress up and down] "Have you ever tried Spanx?"

All plus-size women know about Spanx, not all of us like to wear them.

"Do you really want seconds?"

Everyone knows what's really being said here; posing it as a question doesn't make it any less rude.

"Is everyone in your family fat?"

So what if they are? Your point?????

"So, you are NOT trying to lose weight?"

My body, my choice.

"Do you have sex with the lights on?"

"How old were you when you started gaining weight?"

"How are you so confident?"

I actually get this question a lot from other plus-size women who struggle with self-confidence, and I 100% understand their reason for asking, but we have to stop equating thinness with confidence.
