Caitriona Balfe, star of ‘Outlander,’ used to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel

If you're a living, breathing part of this world, you undoubtedly recognize actress Caitriona Balfe as the star of groundbreaking TV show "Outlander."

As Claire Fraser, the take-no-shit time-traveling nurse who splits her time between the 1940s and 1740s Scotland, Balfe has become one of the most recognizable heroines on TV.

But it turns out that she has a secret past… as a Victoria's Secret Angel.

Yep, I didn't make this up: In 2002, Balfe was cast in the Victoria's Secret runway show alongside legendary Angels like Lindsey Frimodt and freaking Alessandra Ambrosio.

That's Claire on the right, with swoopy hair and a confusing series of straps wound about her person.

While we're more used to seeing Caitriona looking like this...

... back in 2002, she was straight up SERVING in looks like this.

Though according to Caitriona, the road to Angeldom wasn't as easy as she made it look — apparently she needed multiple spray tans before she was ready for the hallowed runway.

Caitriona, who is a pale, freckly Irish lass (same), said that a single bronzing attempt was not enough to bring her up to the tanned standards of Victoria's Secret.

She told Conan O'Brien in 2016, "I was the whitest girl on stage. I'd gone and gotten a spray tan, and they were like, can you get another one? And then I came back with my second spray tan, and I was still the whitest girl on the stage."

It's not all fun and games when you're wearing an inexplicable hairy sex-onesie, folks.

Whether she's going back in time and banging the hottest dude in old Scotland, or rocking the hell out of an absurd outfit on the VS runway... Caitriona is doing it with confidence.
