There are those who live to shop and there are those who'd rather get their cardio at the gym and their clothes online.
If you nodded your head at the latter, you need to know about Dia & Co.
Dia & Co. is a styling service — not a subscription box. For $20, they send you five clothing items that you can either send back or choose to purchase. Stylists pick items based on your answers to survey questions.
Sizes go from 12 to 32 and you can specify if you wear different sizes on top and bottom. The surveys also ask if you have features you want to hide or show off, how you describe your style (edgy, boho, preppy, etc.), and what prints and colors you would never wear.
Best of all, you can choose the prices of the items you receive: $40 to $70, $70 to $100, and $100 and up. I selected the priciest option.
When you open the box you are greeted with a personal note from your stylist. (Item descriptions and prices are listed on the back.) My stylist is Ashby and I love that she's encouraging me to be a little scandalous.
Note: If you hate everything in your box, you can ask for a new stylist to curate your next box.
Now, you do have to be responsible with this box. You only have 5 days to try everything on.
Dia & Co. will send email reminders to keep you on track with returning any items you don't want to purchase.
THE GOOD NEWS: If you decide to keep anything (even just one item), the $20 styling fee goes toward your purchase.
And if you keep the entire box, you get an extra 20% off the total bill. Shipping is free both ways and they give you a return label, of course 🙂
The first item I saw was this Rachel Roy jacket ($99). Instantly I knew this was a keeper. This is actually the first time I've tried on any of Roy's designs.
Rachel Roy Faye oversized denim jacket, $99
Second, this mesh skirt by Junarose ($59) was so comfortable and practically tailored to my body.
Junarose Morgan below knee mesh skirt, $59
I paired the skirt with this sheer top ($59), also from Junarose. Not special enough for the price, I decided.
Junarose Vanessa top, $59
Here are all three pieces as an outfit, as Ashby recommended. Rachel Roy jacket FTW!
Lastly for clothes, this Modamix tunic ($79) was my least favorite item.
Modamix Kenna tunic in green, $79
The fifth item in my box was an accessory! This Shiraleah scarf was another keeper. I loved it. Thank you, Ashby!
Shiraleah Betsy Scarf in wine, $29
Final thoughts:
Pros:
– The surveys are extremely specific and resulted in clothes that are mostly in my style wheelhouse.
– I got to try on brands that I hadn't worn before.
– The items in the box made sense together. It didn't feel like a random assortment of clothes packed in a box.
Cons:
– The try-on period is only 5 days.
– You are going in completely blind; you can't see their inventory or what brands are carried. You just have to hope and wish they have nice clothes. It worked for me.
