Woman Who Was Always Body-Shamed Proves ‘Fat Girls’ Can Marry a ‘Hot Guy’ in Viral Video

Your body shape and weight shouldn’t dictate the kind of person you end up with. But we know that isn’t always true, and the thought can discourage a lot of people looking for a long-term relationship. Thankfully, a fat influencer on TikTok is trying to show plus-size women they can indeed end up marrying men who are considered “hot.”

The woman shared that she was able to nab a traditionally attractive husband despite her size. Even though people fat-shamed her, she got the guy she wanted. Now, the fat influencer wants to use her platform to show that her size doesn’t define her or her attractiveness.

Her video has a very important message.

Fat influencer Sierra Hufham shared a video in November, not thinking that it would cause a stir. But much to her surprise, the video went viral. In the video, she talks about her dating experience as a woman living in a bigger body.

“Can fat girls date hot guys?” she asks. “The answer is 100% unequivocally yes because I landed one.”

Your heart, personality and confidence are what is going to shine through. She wants fat women to feel confident.

“I don’t want you to feel like if you are fat that you are a fetish, because you’re just a person. You’re a person just like a skinny girl,” Hufham continued. “You have personality, you have beauty, you have style, you have finesse just like a skinny girl does. So don’t feel like anybody’s out of your reach, because they’re not.”

The fat influencer goes on to share that “everyone,” including her mother, told her that it wasn’t possible for her to end up with a “model hot” guy.

Her mother’s words were hurtful.

“If you just lost like 100 pounds,” her mother said. “You know you’re pretty now, but if you lost 100 pounds you’d be a knockout and then you could get a really good-looking guy.”

“That’s a horrible thing to tell people,” the woman said bluntly. “That ruined my self-esteem for a really long time, thinking I’d never be able to get anybody,” she admitted.

“And she was 100% wrong cause I got literally like the hottest guy in the world,” she said, admitting that she weighs over a hundred pounds more than her husband. “Weight is not the issue here. It’s people’s mindsets and their hearts and that’s what matters.”

The video has over 50,000 likes and 2,000 comments.

One comment reads: “WATCHING THIS JUST MADE ME CRY. I’VE BEEN TOLD THAT I’M ALONE BECAUSE OF MY WEIGHT. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!”

“I’ve taken myself off the dating market because I don’t feel like I’m pretty enough to be allowed to date 😬 wish I could get myself to this place,” another person wrote.

“This actually made me cry,” someone else shared. “I grew up in a household that said mean things like the things your mother said to u and it diminished my confidence. I’m working on my confidence. Thank you for this.”

The fat influencer wants women to know that they are more than their weight.

Hufham spoke with People about the video and her husband of five years.

“I wanted to just set the record straight and show my husband and I how we met, and the fact that he is a ripped hot guy, and I, a big fat girl, was able to land him. It was just important for me to tell people nobody is out of your league. It is all dependent on how you view yourself. If you know your value, nobody’s off limits,” she said.

For her, the video should serve as a reminder. “I just want to preach the fact that regardless of if you ever choose to lose weight — and some of us may never lose weight — that’s okay. We’re still worth something,” she said.

“I just want to shake everybody and tell them how beautiful they are,” she added.
