People Are Loving Halsey’s Armpit Stubble On The Cover Of ‘Rolling Stone’

As temperatures heat up, it's time to show off more skin. And with that comes the need to make sure that our bodies are hairless and silky smooth, right? Not quite, if you ask any of the growing number of women are opting out of shaving and letting their natural body hair grow feely, like singer Halsey. The star just landed this month's cover of Rolling Stone, and she looks pretty incredible doing it, armpit stubble and all.

But the public display of hair has garnered a boatload of attention on social media from both celebrities, fans, and critics alike who all have opinions on Halsey's freeing of the pits.

Singer Halsey just took over this month's cover of Rolling Stone.

And she looks hot for June's Hot Issue. Affectionately named "Pop's Queen of Chaos" by the publication, the 24-year-old superstar looked stunning with a curly pixie cut, fresh face, simple white tank, and her armpit stubble on full display. The all-natural look comes as no surprise from music's favorite bad girl, and she's not apologizing for any of it.

It's her armpits that seem to be getting the most attention.

Upon posting the cover to her Twitter account, Halsey received over 17,000 retweets and more than three thousand comments, most of them praising her for showing off the bit of hair.

"Ok random point but i love LOVE that they didnt airbrush your underarms. This is what real women look like!!!" someone commented.

The un-airbrushed look is appreciated by fans who feel so, so seen.

Halsey isn't the only woman walking around with a little stubble, and she's definitely not the only one who's not always able to get a close shave, or simply doesn't want to.

"I see what you did.
I love it
Thank you
Free the effin armpits," an adoring fan said.

Even singer Zara Larsson showed her support.

Contrary to what many men expect from us, women are not hairless beings who are always bare and silky smooth.

"I loooove the fact that they didn't edit the armpits like most magazines would do. Women are not little babies who don't have body hair. Stunning cover," Larsson tweeted in support.

But of course there were haters, too.

Including a man who criticized the photographer's "Photoshopping" skills, assuming that Halsey or the magazine wanted her armpits concealed. But her supporters clapped back.

"Halsey has a cover that includes un-photoshopped armpits, and of course the white guy with a receding hairline is the one to say something negative," someone tweeted in her defense.

However, Demi Lovato is loving it just as much as we do.

The singer commented words of encouragement under Halsey's Instagram photo  saying, "There so much yes about this picture idk where to start."

We love women supporting women.

But what matters most is that thanks to the new cover, women are feeling inspired and little more comfortable in their bodies.

"It’s subtle but I really appreciate the visible stubble on your armpits. A lot of women (me being one) are actually very insecure about their armpits. It’s ridiculous but we’re suffocated by the pressure of society telling us that every inch of us needs to be perfect. IT DOESN’T!" said a woman feeling empowered by Halsey.

Pick up your issue when it hits stands July 2. Halsey, you look hot, my dear.
