James Charles' Instagram game is incredibly strong. But, as ludicrously talented as the 17-year-old face of Covergirl is, he didn't achieve that professional-as-hell look on his own — his proud dad had a major hand in his success.
Charles just revealed that his dad is responsible for his flawless highlight game.
In an interview with Allure, James credits much of his artistic success to his father.
"My photos would not be as high quality without my dad. He's a contractor, and together we converted an area in our basement into a makeup studio with a desk, a mirror lined with dimmable lights, and storage areas. And we recently turned his old office into a filming space with soft boxes and a ring light for my YouTube channel."
That's right: James' dad built him a glam room. Talk about PARENTING GOALS.
Just as they were following the epic clap black Manny Gutierrez's dad gave a Twitter bully, our hearts are really freaking warm right now.
Defying gender roles is brave as hell — and knowing that these beauty boys have such supportive parents gives us hope for the future. It might even inspire another male, or gender-non-conforming beauty fanatic, to start their own empire!
And having a supportive family is what inspired James to SHINE — inspiring so many others to do the same.
"When I get messages from people saying that my wearing makeup inspired them to do the same and feel more confident, it makes me so happy — I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world," he said.
