Someone please explain to me: Was the Moschino runway a fashion show or a literal cake walk?
Supermodels like Bella and Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber walked in over-the-top, Marie Antoinette–inspired gowns that looked like walking wedding cakes. The theatrical show was fun and flamboyant, everything the designer wanted it to be. Not to mention, it looked downright delicious.
Fashion shows are meant to be couture and extra, but nothing could top this Moschino show. It takes the cake (sorry for the pun) for the most elaborate designs.
The entire finale was full of dresses that looked just like cakes.
The finale was an homage to Marie Antoinette's infamous words: "Let them eat cake!" Jeremy Scott, the creative mind behind the styles, explained that for the night's look it was changed to: "Let Them Eat … Moschino." The gorgeous finale gowns were '80s-style, but not 1980s; they were meant to mimic the 1780s.
The Milan show featured famous supermodels like the Hadid sisters and Kaia Gerber.
Gerber, Cindy Crawford's daughter, was wearing a baby blue gown with her brunette locks piled high in a Marie Antoinette-era look. Bella Hadid was wearing a frou-frou pink ensemble with white trimmings. Meanwhile, Gigi Hadid stole the show in a massive floral look, and had the attitude to match it.
The final look was a literal wedding dress, surrounded by wedding cake options.
This model looked like a wedding cake topper in this over-the-top, all-white gown. The train trailed long behind her, and the puffy sleeves were everything. "It is deliciously pretty," one person commented, and we agree!

Gerber looks stunning, and her legs look 10 miles long, in this extravagant ensemble dreamt up by Jeremy Scott. "LE PETITE KAIA," the designer wrote in his Instagram caption. The model wears a white frock with tiny pink bows, a full skirt, and massive thigh-high, lace-up pink boots.
Scott shared an adorable video to his Instagram, clearly meant to spark the theme of the show.
Scott wrote, "LET THEM EAT MOSCHINO!" The video featured a pink cake with white icing getting boxed up in a delicate cake box with the words Moschino etched on the side. That obviously mimicked the styles of these artistic gowns, which deserve a place in the fashion hall of fame.
The music at the show jumped between classics and some semi-modern hits like "I Want Candy."
Bella Hadid stomped through the opening of the show, marching along to an appropriate tune: "I Want Candy." The model's bright pink number popped onstage, with jewels and thigh-high white boots. The entire show looked like the most fun.
The details in this show were also to die for.
From fluffy pink bags to choker necklaces reminiscent of Antoinette's style, the accessories and styling of these looks were on point. One clutch looked as if it belonged in the animated series Strawberry Shortcake. I could practically take a bite out of it. Spring fashion is clearly on its way to being a fun, floral sugar-fest.
