It's been a long time since my last salon visit… before we went into quarantine in March, I already hadn't gotten my hair cut in quite a while. Now that it's been another five months, my hair is having some serious issues. Even with hair masks, various conditioning sprays, and other high end hair products, my hair is begging for some TLC. Enter the Tineco Moda One hair dryer.

Tineco — a brand known for its incredible smart vacuums — just entered the hair market with a smart hair dryer. This one-of-a-kind hair dryer features smart sensors, negative ion technology, and an app for customized drying modes, which means it dries your hair in a healthier way. According to the brand, "MODA ONE™ features iLoop™ smart sensor technology. It's the only hair dryer that senses hair moisture and auto adjusts heat and airflow for fast drying without damage from excessive heat… MODA ONE™ produces millions of negative ions that close the hair cuticle, protecting it from damage and increasing overall shine."

Once I received the hair dryer in the mail (disclosure: I was sent the product in PR), I couldn't wait to try it out. I opened the box and found instructions, the dryer, and three add-on parts: the styling concentrator, the smoothing nozzle, and the diffuser. I immediately downloaded the app and connected my hair dryer.

Once I had everything set up, I hopped in the shower and gave my hair a thorough wash. Once I got out of the shower, I quickly towel-dried my hair and then put it into a bun with my go-to towel scrunchy to continue drying while I ate dinner.

While you can use the Tineco hair dryer on fresh-out-of-the-shower wet hair, I typically use a towel scrunchy or hair towel to dry my hair more before grabbing my blow dryer. To stay true to my routine, I kept my hair up for a few minutes, then grabbed my new hair dryer.

Before drying my hair, I brushed it out and spritzed it with a conditioning/styling spray. Next, I put the smoothing nozzle onto the hair dryer and got started.

One of the coolest features of this hair dryer is that it senses the moisture level in your hair and adjusts accordingly. When your hair is wet, the dryer is in "hair dry mode," and the LED ring appears red. Once your hair is mostly dry, the dryer switches to "hair care mode," and the LED ring appears blue.

For anyone who likes to know that their hair dryer is working, this is an amazing feature. When the hair dryer senses that your hair isn't wet anymore (or is further away from your head), the temperature and airflow changes to protect your hair and scalp.

Once my hair was dry, I brushed through it once more and fluffed it with my fingers. I was really pleased with the results. Usually when I dry my hair, it ends up being pretty frizzy — with the Tineco dryer, it was smooth and soft. I can't wait to try out the styling concentrator and the diffuser next!

If you want to try out this incredible smart hair dryer for yourself, it's available for purchase at Tineco.com and on Amazon for $299.
