Growing up, having bushy eyebrows was seen as a BAD thing. I looked like Eugene Levy for most of middle school, and that wasn't meant to be a compliment.
Thanks to Cara Delevingne and plenty of bushy-browed activists, fluffy brows are now back in vogue, though unibrows are still one of those taboos I let my threading professional take care of.
Model Sophia Hadjipanteli, however, is all about her unibrow. And she's using it to send a helluva message.
Hadjipanteli posts selfies featuring her killer brow game.
The 20-year-old from Maryland was born with naturally flawless brows.
"If you're in a family where your brother and dad also have really nice eyebrows, you're never really self-conscious of having thick eyebrows," she revealed in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
Her brows aren't TOTALLY natural, though.
A natural blonde, Hadjipanteli decided to tint her eyebrows after watching a video on YouTube.
"I tried it, and I must have messed up and made them black," she said. "My brother was like, 'It kind of suits you.'"
After the accident, she just kept on tinting her eyebrows and applying castor oil to stimulate hair growth. Other than that, she just leaves them as is and doesn't use any other products on them.
Her natural look has gotten plenty of hate.
"I think it's kind of bizarre that people who fill-in their eyebrows, not that I'm hating on people that do at all, but they're annoyed when I don't fill mine in and leave them as they are. We are both trying to achieve the same standard of beauty," she said. "It upsets me that it's frowned upon in one way and glorified in another."
She isn't forcing anyone to like her unibrow — rather, it's about the power of choice.
"I am more so doing it to show people that they can get on with their lives by having a preference," Hadjipanteli said. "I personally think my face looks better this way. Others disagree, and that's totally cool. I am not trying to get anyone on the unibrow bandwagon. If I like this, just let me like this."
Well said.
To Hadjipanteli, her unibrow is an accessory, one she might choose to change later on.
To the model, a unibrow is just like lipstick or eye shadow, perfect for switching up as she chooses.
"In five years I might look back and think, 'that was a cool phase!' But until people start to accept others for this specific feature on their face, I won't feel ready to move on from it," she explained.
As for the haters? They get EDUCATED.
"I truly believe that I was given this platform to respond," Hadjipanteli said. "If I don't tell them what they're doing is wrong, no one else will."
YES, girl.
Her brows have been getting tons of love, too.

Slay forever.
Reminder: What you choose to do with your body hair is YOUR choice.
Whether you pluck, tweeze, wax, or just let your brows be, it's totally up to you! No one can tell you what to do with something as personal as body hair.
