A young widow decided to eat the last meal her husband made before his unexpected death two years ago, as she emptied her freezer and prepared to move out of state. Sabrina Chae was married to Tony Song for about two years, and they had been together for seven years at the time of his death.
In December 2022, Tony died unexpectedly from cardiac arrest, per People. The day of his death, he had made Japanese curry because his wife asked him to, and Sabrina ended up saving the leftovers – for two years.

While preparing to move to another state, Sabrina decided to eat the curry.
In a video shared on TikTok, Sabrina explained that her husband Tony made curry for her on the day of his death. “I have something very special here,” Sabrina said, holding the curry. “The day that Tony passed away, I really wanted curry, and I wanted Japanese curry, so I asked Tony to make me some, and he did.”
After returning from the hospital, she saved the leftover curry. “I ended up freezing some of it because I wanted to preserve it forever. But because I’m moving out of state, I need to eat this,” she explained in the video.
During an exclusive interview with People, the young widow explained that her decision to save the curry was a somewhat impulsive one. “My initial reaction was just pack and store that curry,” she told the magazine. “I had no idea what else to do, and I was just trying to keep myself busy.”

She acknowledged that it might seem ‘crazy.’
Two years after Tony’s death, Sabrina (@sabfortony on TikTok), decided it was time to eat the curry. “I know some of you might think that is crazy because it’s been over two years,” she said in the video.
She explained that her late husband loved to cook, and cooking her favorite foods was one of the ways in which he expressed his feelings. “Tony was the primary cook of our family and so, any time I was craving anything, he would make it for me,” she said. “That was one of the many ways that he showed love to me.”
In the video, she heated the curry and ate it, noting that it still tasted good despite being two years old. “Thank you, Tony, for my last meal in this home,” she said as she enjoyed the curry.
“i’ll forever miss tony’s cooking,” she captioned the emotional video.
In the comments, many of Sabrina’s followers assured her that she was not “crazy” at all. “It’s not crazy are you kidding?!?! 😭 He’s probably so happy he gets to feed you one last time,” one TikTok user wrote.
“Just thinking how his hands cut the ingredients and his heart cooked it with love made me sob,” a second person commented. “What a beautiful moment.”
“He’s sending you off to the next chapter with love 🥹❤️” a third person wrote.
She said eating the curry was a way to connect with her husband.

As she got ready to move from the home she shared with Tony, eating the curry there seemed extra meaningful.
“I intentionally kind of set it aside to be one of the final meals that I would eat in the house because I felt like that would be really special for me,” she told People. “I was able to connect with Tony again before I actually left that house that we had built together.”
