California Family Goes Viral for Having 14 Kids in 21 Years

It’s a tale as old as time and in this case definitely a song as old as rhyme. You meet and fall in love with someone, you get married, and you look forward to your lifelong dream of being a mom. And sometimes, you opt to go big!

Sarah Wolfgramm did just that when she married the Jets bass guitarist Haini Wolfgramm. Together, they brought 14 kids into the world, who they are raising in Mentone, California. In late 2022 Sarah posted a video on TikTok, which has since gone viral, showcasing their entire brood. The video offers a glimpse of 13 kids – their daughter, Sariah, died of sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS, at 3 months old – along with Sarah's age at the time she gave birth to each and the year she had each child over the course of 21 years.

Sarah told Good Morning America of she and Haini, “We both had our sights that, if God willing and we were able to, we would have a beautiful, big family, like the ones we came from."

Haini has 16 siblings!

But when it came to having a family of his own, he didn't think he'd have one quite that big.

Haini told Good Morning America that he didn’t think they’d have more than three or four children. “But it just kept on going and going and going, and you know, it's been wonderful," he said. "I mean, we both love it."

The Wolfgramms are their own built-in support system.

But the love and support extend past mom and dad. Sarah said they all show up to support each other in life, including when they lost their 3-month-old daughter, Sariah, to SIDS.

Daughter TihanĂ© shared that having a big family to rely on is what got them through the death of Sariah. “We are able to rely on each other and comfort one another," she said.

But they are more than siblings. Sarah notes that the kids became each other's close friends.

Their daughter, Hazel, describes their life as big, crazy, and fun. "I love it. You're never bored. And honestly, there's just a lot of memories," she says.

Her sister, Eve, says their life is a big adventure. "I like having the community of all these people with me to do life with. It's wonderful."

The story of us ...

In the'80s, Haini was a member of the pop sensation the Jets. He and Sara, who is a singer/songwriter, met when the girl group she was a member of worked and toured with the Jets. Sarah admitted to Good Morning America that she had Jets posters in her childhood bedroom.

Their kids have started a new family band.

Keeping the musical legacy going, some of Sara and Haini's kids have formed a group called 13 Crowns. The band 13 Crowns is composed of Eve, Heinrich, Isabella, Tihané, Abraham, Maikeli, and Nora.

Isabella, who plays bass, shared that following in her parents' footsteps gives she and her siblings someone to look up too. “But it’s a lot of pressure,” she admits. She further explains that you don’t want to let anyone down, but adds, “With the pressure comes strength.”
