A Catholic School Teacher Turned to OnlyFans To Make Ends Meet & It Ended Up Getting Her Fired

Since OnlyFans started, it’s not uncommon to hear about people losing their jobs for having an account. Many businesses fear that being associated with a site that has a lot of adult content will damage their reputations. This is especially true at schools, which often punish teachers for having OnlyFans accounts. Italian nursery school teacher Elena Maraga is one of the latest.

The school fired Maraga from her job after parents discovered she has an OnlyFans. But the woman claims that if she made more money, maybe she wouldn’t need to be on the site.

Maraga was a nursery school teacher at a Catholic school in Treviso, Italy, A2 reported. The 29-year-old found herself in the center of a storm back in March, when a parent found her OnlyFans account.

“The father of one of my students bought my photos and distributed them to the football group,” she said in an interview with local news. “Then his wife found out.” The parents brought the issue to the school, which immediately put her on leave. When the school asked her to delete her account, she refused. She said what she does outside of the school doesn’t affect her teaching ability.

“Taking compromising photos has never compromised my professionalism at work,” she argued. “I like myself, I turned my passion for my body into a way to earn income.”

Additionally, Maraga joined OnlyFans to boost her income. “I love teaching children, it’s my calling,” News18 reported her saying in the interview. “But I earn much more on the internet. I opened OnlyFans a month ago, partly for fun, partly out of curiosity, partly to see if you could really earn money. In one day I get a month’s salary.”

“Living on [$1,350] a month is tiring,” Maraga claimed.

Maraga’s story has started a lot of dialogue in Italy. While she has the support of a local trade union, the Italian Ministry of Education announced plans to introduce an addition to its code of ethics barring teachers from doing such things. And she maintains that even though some parents are angry, it’s not all of them.

“There are some mothers who want to support me. They want me to continue teaching their children,” she shared. And as for her former employer? “I am surprised that a Catholic school that preaches morality treats an employee in this way,” she said.
