A 13-year-old in England has been arrested after another boy died. Logan Carter was allegedly riding on a playground merry-go-round when he fell off and suffered fatal injuries. What exactly happened is still under investigation, but there has been speculation that an e-bike may have been used to make the merry-go-round spin too fast. It’s likely the boy then would have been injured as a result of the speed. But currently, this scenario is still being considered just one possibility.
In the evening of August 29, 2025, Cheshire police were called to the Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford, The Independent reported. Paramedics tried to treat 12-year-old Logan after he fell off the playground merry-go-round, but they were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
“This was a deeply tragic incident involving a very young victim and our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the boy who sadly died at the scene,” Detective Sergeant John Rhodes shared in a statement.
Now, Cheshire police are investigating a claim that Logan died after an e-bike was used to “propel” the merry-go-round, People reported. A 13-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, police shared in a statement to the magazine. The teen has been released under investigation, authorities added.

Although police didn’t give an exact time of the arrest, authorities noted it would have been “shortly after the incident occurred.”
“Investigations are ongoing and officers are currently exploring a number of lines of enquiry in order to fully establish the circumstances surrounding this incident,” a spokesperson explained in a statement, per People. “As part of this, officers are exploring reports that an e-bike was used to propel a children’s roundabout in the park at around the time of the incident occurring.”
After his death, the family of Logan Carter released a statement through Cheshire police.
“Logan was a much-loved Son, Brother, Grandson, Great Grandson, Cousin and friend to many. He had an infectious personality and a beautiful smile,” the tribute began. “Everyone wanted to be where Logan was. He was a little boy who was so full of life and wanted to make everyone laugh.” The family added that Logan “made every day worth living.”
“Logan was everyone’s therapy person, their calm and he will be missed more than we can ever put into words,” the statement continued. “We are taking comfort from the words of support we have received whilst we take time to come to terms with the untimely loss of our blue eyed boy.”
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family with funeral costs.
