Police officers are generally held to a higher standard by society. Because they help keep communities safe, law enforcement officials who step out of line face harsh criticism and consequences. And recently, a married police couple was charged after posting explicit material with their kids in the background.
Brian DiBiasi, 39, was fired from the Hamilton Police Department in New Jersey. Meanwhile, his wife, Elizabeth DiBiasi, 42, was suspended without pay from the Mercer County sheriff’s office. Now, they face serious charges for their alleged crimes.

The police officer couple was charged in early 2025 after posting explicit material with their kids in the background.
On January 29, New Jersey State Police arrested the pair at their home in Hamilton, New Jersey, NJ.com reported. Brian DiBiasi was charged with five counts, including recording, possessing, and distributing child sexual abuse material and endangering the welfare of a child. Elizabeth DiBiasi was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by engaging in sexual conduct.
Allegedly, 36 media files were involved.
Brian reportedly shared 36 media files online containing photos and videos of his wife without clothes with children nearby, according to a news release from the New Jersey attorney general’s office. The kids were allegedly without clothing at times as well. Additionally, police accessed chat logs where Brian DiBiasi allegedly “mentioned children being present while he and his wife had sex.”

Brian DiBiasi allegedly posted photos and videos on Kik.
The child sexual abuse material from the couple appeared on a social media app, Kik. Investigators traced the account to their home, NJ.com reported. When investigators raided the residence, Brian DiBiasi admitted to owning the account and posting the files, authorities said. A tip line for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children learned of the explicit material and gave the information to State Police investigators.
The New Jersey attorney general has reacted to the news.
New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin released a statement about the case, noting that “sexual offenses against children are among the most serious crimes we charge.”
“It’s especially disturbing when, as in this case, the accused are members of law enforcement,” he continued. “My office works hand-in-hand with the New Jersey State Police and all 21 County Prosecutors to investigate and prosecute those who engage in this conduct. Protecting children from this kind of lasting harm is one of our most important responsibilities.”
On February 7, they were released from jail.
Following a bail hearing on February 7, Brian and Elizabeth DiBiasi were released from jail with conditions, the New York Post reported. They are restricted in their travel and cannot see their children without approval from child protective services. It’s unclear when their next court date will be.
