A Wisconsin teen died in a single-vehicle car crash on September 6, 2025, and sadly, his mom was the one who found his car at the scene of the accident. The 18-year-old reportedly drove off the road and hit several trees, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. He was later identified as Caleb Guatemala from Watertown, Wisconsin.
Tragically, the teen’s mom, Rachel Finn, thought her son was simply out spending time with his friends, she explained to WTMJ. But when he didn’t make it home that evening or respond to any calls from his family, she used his phone’s latest location to find him. Doing so led her to the site of the crash.
“This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my entire life, and I don’t wish it on anybody,” she told the news outlet. “When moms know or feel something that’s wrong with their kids, follow your intuition. Follow it because it’s true.”

The crash is still under investigation, so Caleb’s family doesn’t know what caused him to veer off the road. According to his obituary, the young man had just recently graduated from Watertown High School.
Describing him as “a jokester,” his family remembers Caleb as someone who “was never sad and was always full of love, kindness, and laughter” and who “had the biggest heart and accepted you for who you were not what you had.” His funeral is September 12.
He had five siblings. One of his brothers, Gabrien Garcia-Finn, told WTMJ that he misses Caleb’s “brotherly love.” He said, “I wish I could say I was doing fine, but I’m really not. It’s been hard going to the house and not being insulted when I walk into the door.”
