Dating is hard when you’re a single mom. Trying to find the time to date, arranging child care, and even just finding the energy to use dating apps is a challenge. So when you find someone, you’re going to do as much as you can to lock them in. But it can always go wrong. A mom living in Florida learned that the hard way. She met Saady Mijail Castellanos Triminio through a social media dating app and quickly made plans to visit him in another city. The only thing is, she had to bring her toddler. Soon, things took a turn for the worse, and she became worried for their safety when he allegedly tried to kidnap them.
Officers responded to a report of false imprisonment around 2:45 a.m. on February 21, 2026, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by People. When they arrived at the home, they found the woman and her 3-year-old daughter and rescued them.
Police learned that the woman, who has not been named, met Triminio on the Facebook dating app about two weeks before the incident.
After several video calls, they talked about meeting. Because the woman lives in Orlando, Triminio offered to buy her a train ticket to Miami. It was his birthday, so he suggested they meet in person to celebrate.

She arrived in Miami around 5:30 p.m. February 20, Local 12 reported. Instead of going out to eat as he originally proposed, Triminio allegedly bought pizza and took them to his home.
The woman became uncomfortable after he tried to kiss her, she told police. She asked to leave, but he became angry, per Local 12. He then allegedly blocked her access to the exit, and bear-hugged her in an attempt to keep her from leaving.
The woman then texted a friend, angering Triminio further. He allegedly took her phone briefly, and when she began to scream, he covered her mouth to the point where she couldn’t breathe, People reported. She was eventually able to escape to another room with her daughter and locked them inside. She called the friend back, who in turn called 911.
According to the affidavit, police were still on the phone with the friend when they arrived at Triminio’s home and told the friend to have the woman make noise so they could find her. Triminio was taken into custody when he opened the door.
Triminio was charged with strong-arm robbery, child neglect, false imprisonment, and battery by strangulation. A judge set his bond at $17,500, issued a stay-away order, and placed him on an immigration hold. Online court records obtained by People show that he pleaded not guilty.
