When you send your child to school, you expect them to come home the same way you sent them. Two parents in Georgia were surprised that their 6-year-old didn't come home from school wearing the same clothes they had sent her to school in. Somehow, the elementary schooler was missing her shorts, and hadn't been wearing them for most of the school day.
The school is addressing the incident, maintaining that it was an accident and the little girl had never been in any sort of danger throughout the day. But it begs the question: How did no one notice a kid walking around without pants?

The parents were 'shocked' when their daughter came home.
According to the girl's mother, Avishaye Daniels, she sent her daughter Aylah to school fully clothed, but the girl came back wearing a T-shirt, underwear, socks, and shoes. After notifying the school, the parents were told that their daughter had been walking around like that for about three hours, from noon until she left around 3 p.m.
"I was mad, but I was more shocked than anything," Daniels told news station WALB.

The incident was certainly unusual.
"How can you look over my 6-year-old daughter in a T-shirt and panties, socks, and shoes for three hours?" Aylah’s dad, Daman Bell, asked. And that's a good question.
Jeff Henderson, principal of Baker County Schools, told the news outlet that the whole situation was an accident. "We’ve never had this happen before," he said.
It's hard to understand how no one noticed a 6-year-old walking around without pants.
The school was hosting a chalk party that day, and parents were asked to send a shirt to change into. Aylah explained that she forgot to put her shorts back on after she changed. According to Henderson, the girl's teacher didn't notice that Aylah wasn't wearing pants.
"Her shirt was long. It went almost to her knee and she was not fully exposed or anything like that throughout the day," Henderson said.
The parents are doing everything they can to ensure an incident like this one won't happen again.
School police, as well as the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, have reviewed the school cameras to make sure nothing happened to the little girl while she was walking around without pants. Henderson was able to say that the child's safety was never compromised.
"We do care about their concerns and the safety of our students. We learned from this. It’s a big learning experience for everyone that this took place. It was never intentional, no way shape form this would ever happen," he said.
Aylah’s parents are still waiting to review the footage themselves. Meanwhile, they are continuing to speak up about their concerns. The school principal assured WALB that they weren't taking the incident lightly.
