Elementary School Principal in Florida Allegedly Threw a Drunken House Party for More Than 100 Juveniles

We’d like to believe that the people we entrust with the care of our children have their best interests at heart. Sadly, those people can be the very ones who use their position to not only take advantage but also to inflict harm on an already vulnerable group.

A Florida community faced this hard truth when authorities say they found 100 juveniles partying and drinking at an elementary school principal’s home.

On January 19, 2025, police visited the home of 47-year-old Elizabeth Hill-Brodigan, the principal of Roosevelt Elementary School in Cocoa Beach, ABC News reported. Police were responding to reports of a large house party, with over 100 juvenile attendees. The children were wearing matching T-shirts and  many were reportedly consuming alcohol. Police say coolers found inside the residence housed the beverages.

As officers were responding to the complaint, they observed a child on the front lawn of Hill-Brodigan’s property “experiencing an alcohol related medical event,” claims a statement from the Cocoa Beach Police Department. The Brevard County Fire department was there to administer treatment. As they attempted to help the child, Hill-Brodigan reportedly turned off the lights on the outside of the home. Rescue personnel had to use auxiliary lighting to help the sick juvenile, The National Desk reported.

But the dangers of the party extended beyond Hill-Brodigan’s residence. Police also arrested a teen who had reportedly been at the party for driving under the influence.

Another adult and teacher at Roosevelt Elementary, 45-year-old Karly Anderson, was also reportedly found intoxicated on the property. After several interviews with juveniles and parents, police obtained an arrest warrant for Hill-Brodigan.

Authorities charged her with child neglect, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and holding an “open house party.” Police also arrested Anderson and charged her with child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Authorities believe these “white lie” parties happened once or twice a month, WFTV reports. Students told investigators that in addition to alcohol, there was also marijuana at the most recent party.

School officials placed both Hill-Brodigan and Anderson on administrative leave from Brevard Public Schools. Dr. Jennifer Clarke has been acting as principal at Roosevelt while the district searches for a replacement.

In a letter to families, the Brevard County Superintendent wrote: “I am very troubled by the information that CBPD has shared with the district. We hold our leaders to the highest standards, and if these allegations are true, it’s a complete failure in leadership and a violation of our trust. The district is cooperating fully with police as they investigate this matter and will strive to provide families with full transparency.”
