‘Pre-K Fight Club’: Teachers Accused of Filming & Laughing at 4-Year-Old Boy Beat Up at School

Louisiana mom Olevia Robinson sent her son to Riveroaks Elementary School, expecting him to get an education in a loving and nurturing environment. Sadly, she claims other students beat up her 4-year-old son in class, and the teachers knew about it and did nothing to help. Not only were they aware, but Robinson also claims a teacher took video and laughed as another child repeatedly punched him. Robinson wants East Baton Rouge Schools to explain what happened.

She told WAFB that one of her son’s teachers reportedly told her he had behavioral problems. “I believed the teachers saying my son just wants to get out of a punishment, but the whole time that wasn’t the case,” she said.

But after she saw videos allegedly taken in the classroom, she wanted answers. WAFB reviewed the videos and reported that in one, a teacher yells at a student to stop punching Robinson’s son while the teacher recording allegedly laughs. In another, a student apparently tries to help the little boy, and a teacher allegedly says, “That ain’t got nothing to do with you.”

Per WAFB, after the video spread on social media, many have likened it to a “pre-k fight club.”

Robinson planned to meet with the teachers, but after someone sent her the videos, she went straight to the principal.

“The teachers told her that they were trying to record his behavior in the classroom, but that video didn’t show anything about my son’s behavior. It showed children that was hitting on him,” Robinson told WAFB.

“They brought that video to her attention today because they found out I had the video. That video was taken January 13th at 11:50. The other video 11:51. So if it was something that y’all wanted to show me, it would have been shown,” she added.

East Baton Rouge Schools Superintendent LaMont Cole told WAFB the video shocked him, and he called the teacher’s behavior “disgusting.” But he wanted to make it clear these teachers are the exception to the rule.

“I do want to say to the families, don’t let the two employees who made bad decisions not be a reflection of all of the other employees who come and do it right every single day,” Cole said.

The teachers initially were placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, WAFB reported, but now, according to People, they are no longer working at the school district.

“Once school administration was made aware of the incident, immediate action was taken,” the school district wrote in the statement obtained by People. “The district is actively reviewing the circumstances and will take all necessary steps to ensure accountability and reinforce our commitment to student safety.”

Robinson told WAFB she plans to move her son to a different school.

“You send your children to school to be protected, to learn, and they failed him,” she said.
