Spring Weems loved her five children and raised them in a supportive home. Even though she and her ex-husband, Levi Weems, no longer lived together, they shared custody of their minor children. Their 16-year-old son, Jordan Weems, and a sibling identified only as TW, recently got into trouble with law enforcement. As punishment, Spring reportedly wanted her sons to live like prisoners. But it appears her plan might have backfired. Police say Jordan brutally murdered his mother at her Logan County, Oklahoma, home, then hid her body in a dumpster.
According to court documents obtained by News 9, Jordan and TW recently got into trouble for sneaking out and running from police. To teach Jordan a lesson, Spring reportedly took away his clothing and bedding and locked them in her room. She made him eat foods commonly served in prison, like ham and beans, and forced him to wear an orange jumpsuit “to show what life as a prisoner might look like if he did not start behaving.”
This apparently upset Jordan, who allegedly told TW he wanted to kill their mother, per the affidavit. On January 27, 2026, a third sibling, AW, returned home from a friend’s and asked where their mother was. Jordan claimed she was visiting their older sibling who’d just had a baby. With Spring’s car still at the home and her bedroom door locked, something seemed unusual to AW. The following day, AW called Levi for help.
Levi called the Logan County Sheriff’s Office to report his ex-wife missing. The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation reported deputies arrived at the home for a welfare check at 2:15 p.m. on January 28. They searched the property and reportedly found Spring’s body and determined her cause of death was homicide.
News 9 reported that TW told Levi and AW that Jordan killed Spring with a hammer and stuffed her body in a trash can. According to court documents, the teenager admitted to waiting in a hallway for his mother so he could attack her. He then reportedly told his father that his brother put her body in a trash can and wheeled it to the street.
According to a GoFundMe, Jordan “was struggling with severe mental illness — an illness Spring had recognized and for which she had actively sought and ensured professional treatment.”
The fundraiser described Spring as “an excellent mother and a powerful example of a parent.” Loved ones asked not to judge her or the family as details of their lives become headlines.
“She was a beautiful soul whose life mattered immensely, and whose loss has left an unimaginable void. Her passing has impacted not only her children and family, but also friends, neighbors, and everyone fortunate enough to know her,” the fundraiser reads.
Jordan faces charges of first-degree murder, desecration of a human corpse, and unauthorized removal of a dead body.
We may never know what really happened in that home. Hopefully, Jordan gets the help he needs and the rest of the family will heal.
