Strange ‘Red Stain’ This Mom Found in a Diaper Is Pretty Much the Definition of Life With Boys

When it comes to diapers, there are just so many things that can wrong. Kids get diaper rashes, they have poop explosions, and they shove uneaten snacks down their pants, and it's up to us to cope with whatever crisis we might find in that little absorbent envelope of doom. So when Jaci Dyess Iles opened up her son's diaper and saw a spot that she thought was blood, she immediately went into panic mode. But, as it turns out, her son wasn't actually in crisis at all. instead, the red stain in his diaper had a hysterical backstory.

"Putting babies in the bath and I pull down Drew’s diaper to find a huge red spot where he has peed," the mom wrote on Facebook.

Iles is a registered nurse so she said her "first nursing thoughts are 'Oh my gosh … okay, this is fresh new blood. Does he have a cut? Is he passing some sort of stone?' (He had been complaining about his back hurting). Does he have a UTI?'”

But it was none of those things, as the worried mom clarified in her next sentence.

"What to my wondering eyes should appear but a little 'ole Starburst jelly bean stuck to his ball sac," she wrote.

Apparently the kiddo had been hiding jelly beans from his sister earlier and, well, one got stuck.

"He was mostly upset because I wouldn’t let him eat it, but he’s all washed up now and hopefully the genitals are only stained red for a day or two," the mom added.

Naturally, parents are dying over her hilarious jelly bean saga.

Some people shared stories of their own random diaper finds.

One kid literally had a half pack of Trident gum in his pants.

If there's one thing all parents can agree on, it's that there's never a dull moment when you're raising kids. At least now we know to look out for errant jelly beans next time we go to change a diaper.
