Mom’s Incredible Photo of Her Triplet Baby Bump Defies Physics

Pregnancy is not an easy thing. Just carrying one baby can take an enormous toll on a woman's body, causing everything from stretch marks and heartburn to major changes in her brain and cardiovascular system. But one 36-year-old mom from Denmark is going through all of that, times three. Maria, who runs the popular Instagram account Triplets of Copenhagen, is blowing the Internet away with her raw photos and confessions that show exactly what it's like to be pregnant with triplets.

Maria's photos started going viral this week after she shared this most recent snap of her pregnancy bump at 35 weeks.

The mom, who already has a 2-year-old son, is expecting spontaneous triplets via c-section sometime today.

Maria used Instagram to document most of her pregnancy, and the progression of her baby bump is amazing to see.

In her posts, Maria admits that her pregnancy hasn't exactly been a walk in the park. In a separate update at 33 weeks, the mom wrote, "I’m reaching my limits now, and counting the days until delivery. The babies are kicking hard and moving around all day and night, to great discomfort. And my belly feels so full and stretched; I literally have to lift it with my hands to be able to turn over in bed."

The poor mom even had to deal with pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of Pregnancy (PUPP), a pregnancy-related skin condition that gives women severely itchy little red bumps. "The rash (PUPPP) has taken over big parts of my body, and it is just awful. Horrible," she wrote at 31 weeks. "Got a new medicine (antihistamine) today, which hopefully will work in 2-3 days."

Maria even posted a video so people could see how far her stomach has stretched to accommodate her babies.

Despite the difficulties of carrying three other humans inside your body, Maria is grateful to be healthy and to have carried her babies this long.

"Another milestone, because this is the average length of pregnancy for triplets," she wrote back when she was 32 weeks along. "Feeling quite good all considering, something you can’t take for granted in this situation."

People have been incredibly supportive of Maria sharing her pregnancy journey. One follower even made the babies matching sweater sets.

Maria and her family live in a two-bedroom apartment, so the babies will be sharing her room (and an oversized basinet) for the first year.

But the family is prepped and SO ready to meet their new babies.

"I wont have to drag around this 20 kg [44-pound] bump anymore!" the mom wrote on Instagram." We are SO ready for the next chapter!"
