Pregnant Mom’s Reaction to Man Who Judged Her Drink Order Is the Ultimate Shutdown

Don't you just love how the second you become pregnant, the unsolicited pregnancy and baby advice comes FLOODING your way? Whether it's alcohol, lunch meat, or (our favorite vice) caffeine, it seems like a pregnant mama can't go anywhere these days without being told that she should or shouldn't be eating. And while some of us may choose to grin and bear it, it seems one mom-to-be on Twitter had quite enough of that recently, after a total stranger told her not to drink her daily cup of coffee. (Let's just say, it was a BIG mistake.)

The whole mess started when the mom went to get a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

As she shared in a now-viral Twitter thread, user @Diamond_Jax — who is currently six months pregnant — was minding her own business at Starbucks when stranger came out of nowhere and rudely told her she should be drinking decaf while pregnant.

Annoying, right? Except, how 'bout this: the mom-to-be had perhaps the best response EVER to the nosy stranger. Instead of defending herself, she simply shot back: "I’m… not pregnant."

(OMG, BRILLIANT.)

The mortified stranger then apologized profusely, while the mom-to-be felt pretty boss about her shutdown.

"And that’s what you get for giving unsolicited advice," she concluded her tweet.

The post has amassed thousands of likes and retweets, with some people even calling the woman a "hero" for her response.

Plenty of people were annoyed on the mom's behalf, with one person saying, "Isn't it amazing how you become everyone's property when you are preggers?"

"You are a hero," a second person added. "My wife would get such disparaging looks (and comments) when she would occasionally have a glass of red wine while pregnant. Sadly, unsolicited advice from strangers doesn't end once your child is born. Everyone thinks they know more about raising kids than you."

"I am absolutely trying to figure out whether I could pull this off at 8.5 months pregnant," wrote another woman. "You are an absolute hero."

Not everyone on Twitter was laughing with her, though. In fact, some kinda thought the stranger had a point.

"Funny because she’s just looking out for your baby’s health and you decide to embarrass her," wrote one woman. "Haha so funny!"

"That stranger does have a point and that unsolicited advice should be taken," wrote another user. "Just sayin … "

"Really?" a third chimed in. "You are more proud of your response than to have a legit concern for your baby?"

But when all was said and done, the mom had ZERO regrets about her retort.

In fact, she practically rolled her eyes at those who thought she was putting her baby at risk with a single cup of joe.

"You’re right I don’t have any concern for my baby," she later responded to someone who criticized her. "I should follow the advice of random people at Starbucks instead of my doctors, midwives, and the actual research."

According to the March of Dimes website, expectant mamas should limit their caffeine intake overall, but can drink up to 200 milligrams of caffeine each day with no issues. In other words: Drinking one and a half 8-ounce cups of coffee, or about one 12-ounce cup of coffee, is A-OK, according to experts.

In the end, the mom explained to her haters that there's a good reason why she got so upset.

"When you’re pregnant, it’s strange enough to lose so much of your body autonomy to the baby," she wrote, "but then everyone else confirms it’s no longer your body as well. It’s the worst part about being pregnant."

(UGH. Ain't that the truth.)
