The connection between baby and the womb is one most people on this planet share. Still, so much about that time is unknown. We can take images of the baby inside but we don’t know how they’re experiencing the budding world around them and what they’ll remember of it when they leave the womb.
One mom shared a video that suggested the connection might be deeper than we suspect, but she did not get the reaction she was probably hoping for.

'My free birthed baby always lays on the ground right where we buried her placenta,' the mom shared.
Dakoda Sunday, who goes by @thewildsundays on TikTok, shared a video of her child lying on the ground outside. The little one is quiet and seems completely content as she rubs the dirt beneath her.
In the text over the video, Dakoda writes, “My free birthed baby always lays on the ground right where we buried her placenta.” As Dakoda steps into her daughter’s view, she looks up and gives her mom a sweet smile.

Dakoda's daughter seemed so serene.
Babies and their inner workings are a mystery, so who knows exactly what’s going on here? Whatever cosmic connection we’re witnessing, seeing this level of chill and serenity in a toddler is a beautiful sight. But when Dakoda shared the video on TikTok, users took it a little differently.
TikTok users made jokes about the video.
There were plenty of jokes from people about the “connections” they shared with their own placentas.
“My placenta buried me and I’m commenting from underground. Help,” one user wrote.
“As a placenta, I find this super heartwarming,” another person commented.
“Got into a huge fight with my placenta. We don’t talk anymore,” someone else joked.
Dakoda could appreciate the humor but still thought it was a beautiful moment.
Although Dakoda posted the video and was serious in doing so instead of being silly, she appreciated the humor of commenters. Still, she did share a bit more about her birthing experiences.
In response to one of the jokes, she posted another video, saying, “Before I had had my free birth, I had two C-sections and then an all-natural birth. I was so uncomfortable with the idea of what to do with the placenta or even seeing it.
"And then once my baby was born, I had this great, profound gratitude toward my baby’s placenta because it kept her alive and it was actually just really beautiful," she continues. "So yes, all your comments are so funny. But it’s really beautiful.”
