Mom Shares the Incredible Affirmations She Tells Herself While Breastfeeding Her Daughter

For many mothers, breastfeeding can be a struggle. Not everyone can breastfeed successfully. Some mothers have a hard time with breast milk production or even getting their babies to latch properly. Even those mothers who do decide to breastfeed and are able to do so with relative ease often struggle in less outwardly obvious ways.

Breastfeeding can take a lot out of moms. It can be draining and exhausting. Sometimes moms get burned out doing it day in and day out, multiple times a day. Recently, author and nursing mom Brandi Chantalle decided to share the positive affirmations that help her stick with her breastfeeding journey through all of the hurdles.

Like so many moms, Brandi sometimes grows weary of the demands of breastfeeding.

Although Brandi knows that feeding her daughter is important and is a tremendous bonding experience, there are times when she, like many moms, feels "touched out." When she experiences this, however, she has a way to remind herself of all the good that comes with breastfeeding.

Brandi says she oftentimes tells herself affirmations when feeding her daughter.

"When I'm breastfeeding, I sometimes envision my milk is being filled with something I want my daughter to embody," she said in a video shared by Good Morning America. "So while she's latched, I say to myself, 'This is a serving of faithfulness, this is a serving of confidence, this is a serving of discipline, etc."

When Brandi feels 'touched out,' she reminds herself of this.

Brandi said when she does experience that uncomfortable feeling, she reminds herself that breastfeeding is another way to pour into her daughter the things she needs, and it helps to combat her frustrations. Although it's not a "complete consolation," she said it still counts.

Many women can relate to Brandi's feelings and in response to the video have shared their own experiences breastfeeding.

"Loved my breast feeding days that's the most beautiful feeling connecting and bonding with your baby," shard one mom on Facebook. Others agreed that they, too, loved their nursing experiences.

"There's no shame and nothing wrong for mom's out there of breastfeeding their babies. Even wild animal and non-domestic mothers feed their babies too," shared another user on Facebook.

"I love to think of positive things flowing into my baby when nursing. I love this ," commented one TikTok user.

"Wheeeew I miss feeding Z. This was so beautiful, and thank you for the nostalgia ❤️," commented another mom.

Thank you, Brandi, for reminding us all how important the sacrifices and love we give as moms are — nursing or not!
