A woman and her daughter have people across the internet scratching their heads after posting a TikTok where they look so much alike that some people thought they were seeing double. Forty-one-year-old Stacie Smith and her 16-year-old daughter Madison took the social media app by storm in a recent video, and hundreds of commenters wrote in to say the pair looked more like twins than mother and daughter.
We admit, even we did a double take after watching a recent video from Smith’s TikTok.
Sure, it probably helps that they are dressed in matching outfits in the clip shared on Tuesday.
“Aren't you that mother/daughter duo that people think are twins?” text on the video read. “Since it's said so often, we went there. Still don't see it!”
So far the video has racked up over 1 million views.
Most likely, that's because people had trouble figuring out who was who. Both mother and daughter have long blonde hair and blue eyes.
This isn’t the first time that Smith has pulled one over on her followers.
Smith often shares videos of her and Madison dancing in matching outfits or the two of them trying TikTok trends where it is nearly impossible to tell them apart.
So it’s no wonder people were stumped on her most recent twinning video.
“She really said copy and paste,” one commenter wrote.
“Took me two watches to figure out who mom is,” someone else agreed.
“I thought the first one was the daughter until the second came out! Wow. Twins!” a third commenter added.
Of course, Smith took the whole thing as one big hilarious compliment.
She told one person who commented that their message made her day. And after one person asked if she had Madison when she was “two” she responded, “Bhaahha I'm dying! I had her when I was 25. I'm 41. She's 16.”
Smith told another commenter that it was the “lighting” in the room making her and Madison look so similar.
“Great natural lighting covers wrinkles!” she joked to someone else.
If we had to guess, it was more than standing near a window on a sunny day that makes these two resemble each other so much. There are some good genes in that family for sure.
